Hello!! One of my recent eyeahdaow purchases was Soft Brown by Mac. I wanted to get this one because it's a great neutral, matte color that's great for in the crease or a transition shade. My two favorites are buck and faint by Urban Decay and I use these on a regular basis. I knew I wanted a Mac one for my palette I was building so Soft Brown was a perfect pick.
Here is a picture taken with the flash. I have horrible lighting in my room and this looks slightly deeper in the picture than it might on Mac website but you will be able to see the color from my swatches.
Here is a swatch taken with the camera flash.
This is take without the flash.
At first I though this would be a lot similar to Buck by Urban Decay. In the pan they look similar but when swatched they do not.
The first one is Soft Brown, and the second is Buck.
You can see soft brown is a lot warmer and has a more red undertone to it.
My overall thoughts
-I really love this shadow and it has really great pigmentation to it.
-It has a nice formula and blends out really well.
-It's a great crease or transition color and pairs well with a lot of other shades.
-I don't like it as much as the two Urban Decay shades I mentioned, but I really like having this in my Mac palette!
Have you tried soft brown before? Let me know your favorite Mac shadows in the comments so I can check them out!
I haven't tried soft brown before, I use charcoal brown and quarry a lot x
