Being a lover of makeup, it's natural for me to lust after beauty products from other countries that I can't find here in the U.S. I don't know how many times I've watched or read people talk about products from Asia, Europe, Australia, and even Canada and thought 'ooooh I wish I could try that!'
I have heard about a Japanese makeup brand from Majolica Majorca a long time ago on YouTube that I've always wanted to try. I spent what seems like hours searching for affordable ones on eBay and Amazon, watching and reading reviews and looking at swatches etc. I found a blush that I wanted and an eyeshadow quad, and I waited very impatiently for them to arrive!
The palette I chose was one of the Jeweling Eyeshadow quads, and the blush is a Puff de Cheek blush.
Eyeshadow
The packaging is cute and practical. It's very small so it's nice from travel.
This one is in the color GD886. You can tell from the photo with the flash how stunning these look. I was shocked when I opened this up at how pretty it was. Of course I chose a neural one with pretty bronze colors because that's all I normally wear.
My thoughts-
-These are super buttery and smoothly and blend out nice. They did have some fall out, but nothing crazy.
-The pigmentation was decent. It took a little bit to build up the color in my crease.
-I would say these are more like drugstore quality for eyeshadows (similar to wet n wild or Nyx). They are good but definitely not the quality of Urban Decat or Lorac. If you can get these cheap, I would recommend it but I wouldn't pay $20 for this on eBay like I did.
-I can see myself using this a lot, it's cute, little, and my type of colors.
The Blush
I have seriously wanted one of these forever, and this is why I started my hunt for this makeup. I think the little tin is so cute and I had a hard time picking what one to get. I was kind of confused because from all the pictures I saw these were one solid color but the one I got has the swirl inside haha.
My thoughts-
-I am in love with this!! The pigmentation isn't super great, but that's why I like it. It gives you such a nice, pretty and natural flush of color.
-It looks a lot more shimmery swatched and in the pan but when it's on your cheeks, the shimmer doesn't stand out. It just gives you a nice natural glow.
-This is super long wearing. I wore it to work and even afterwards when I got home (11 hours) it stayed on and was not patchy at all.
-I know I'll get a lot of use out of this one. Especially in the spring and summer when I wear more coral shades!
I am super happy with both of my purchases, and I can't wait to try out more things like this!
Have you tried either of these products?
Also please let me know of some other brands that I should check out!! I would love to try more makeup brands that I can't get here in the US!
Great review, Ashley and as I said on Instagram, this brand is huge in Asia and I know many of my friends are mad for it. However, this brand is famous for their mascaras. Their mascaras are made for Asian lashes which are usually sparse, short and stick straight (like mine) and they give beautiful results. I've never tried the mascaras myself but my friends swear by it.

DeleteI love asian brand makeup! The packaging is cute and the overall quality is nice. I love the shimmer of the eyeshadow and blush. The colors are nice! I was on an Asian makeup and skin care kick two years ago and experimented with some. Click on my side bar ashley for Skin Food, Etude House, Holika Holika, and Jill Stuart who is American and sells products in Asia.

Oh btw, I'll probably be absent from my blog for a few weeks because I've been so busy lately, but I'll be back soon! I just wrote a post about it. I'm hoping that I can get some blog reading and blog drafting done! Have a great weekend Ashley!
ReplyDeleteThanks pilar! The packaging is cute I agree. Have a great weekend too and in going to checkout your post now!
DeleteEven though I'm Asian, I usually don't go for Asian brands haha! Packaging seems to play a major part in Asian cosmetics, they seriously know what they're doing in that department! I know Skin Food and Etude House are pretty popular brands, and I'd like to try those out sometime.
