Mary Kay Baked Eye Trio in Earth Bound Review

Hey everyone!! One of my clients at work is a Mary Kay representative and she brought me some makeup items to try out! I was really excited because who doesn't love getting free makeup? Lol. It was super generous of her and I was really curious about the products because I have tried very few Mary Kay items.
One of the products she brought me was a baked eyeshadow trio in the color called Earth Bound. I love the name of this trio. And you can probably guess that the colors are really earth toned, which is my favorite.

Lighting is kind of crappy sorry!! The packaging hard plastic that snaps shut. It's small and ideal for travel with the three different colors.

Here's swatches of the three colors. They all have shimmer in them. The lightest color is a dark champagne toned color which is great for the lid or highlight. The middle color is a darker bronze color, and the third is a beautiful emerald. They were pretty pigmented when I swatched them.

The look I created with this trio

I used the lightest color on my lid and for my inner corner and brow bone highlight. The darker color in my crease and applied it a little heavier on my outter corner. I used the emerald shade on my lower lash line.

My overall thoughts on this product

First I want to point out the price. It's $10 for this trio, which is pretty affordable considering you get 3 shades. You cans mix and match the colors to make different eye looks which is great.
The eyeshadows are pretty and when I swatched them they looked really pigmented, but when I applied them to my eyes it took a little bit extra to build the product up.
Once I was able to get the look how I wanted, I was happy with the results and thought it turned out really nice and pretty. I ended up using a wet shader brush for the lid color and it made the shadow stick my my eyelid and look a lot more pretty/pigmented. I think this is a great trio for someone just starting out with makeup, or for someone looking for some eyeshadow that's a good price.
I will continue to use this though, especially the emerald shade!

Have you tried any of these Mary Kay eyeshadows before? If so leave your thoughts!

  6. The colors are so pretty it's a shame they didn't work better. I haven't used Mary Kay in several years but they have brought out a lot of new items lately.

    1. If there was a better way to apply them so the fall out wasn't so bad then they would be fine! I haven't used their products in years either!
