Baked Apple Oatmeal | Healthy Recipes

Hi! I totally had a makeup post planned for today, but I made this delicious baked apple oatmeal for breakfast and I HAD TO SHARE! This was my first time making it and I got the recipe from Kalel Kitten  on YouTube. I like oatmeal but I'm not a huge oatmeal eating but this has totally changed the game for me.

I haven't done a recipe post in a long time but this is perfect for Fall, and since it's right around the corner (yay!) I thought it would be perfect to share.

Baked Apple Oatmeal
*I also wanted to note that this is a vegan recipe, but you can very easily change that by using regular milk instead of a non dairy one!! I've also slightly modified the recipe from the one I found on YouTube- she used an almond milk creamer that was a caramel pecan flavor!*

What you'll need
-1 cup of oats. Any type of oats will work. I think mine are old fashion oats- I can't remember since I keep them in a mason jars.
-1 apple
-1 cup non dairy milk (I used vanilla soy milk but adjust to which ever milk you like- milk, almond milk, rice milk, cashew milk, etc)
-maple syrup, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, and a little brown sugar. Add accordingly to how much you want
-walnuts for toppings

Dircections
-Boil about 1 to 1.5 cups of water. Add in 1 cup of oatmeal. Turn heat to medium for about 5 minutes. Then turn heat to low, add in a splash of your milk choice and cover. Stir often. This is just how I chose to cook the oats, you can do which ever way you'd like.
-Chop up your apple and put the pieces into a skillet with 1 cup of milk choice.
-In the skillet add in maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice. Add in however much you like, I didn't measuring mine.
-Cook apples for about 5-10 minutes until they get soft.
-Once everything is cooked, add the apple mixture with all the milk in the pan into a bowl over top of the oatmeal.
-Add some walnuts or whichever nuts you like on top!
-Enjoy your fabulous oatmeal!

This is super super easy and only takes maybe 10 minutes to make! I never used to like to make plain oats because I could never get them to be flavored enough so I'd always stick to the instant packets. I'm so excited to found a recipe that I can make myself now!

I hope you all try this out! If any of you want me to share more of my vegan recipes let me know and Id be happy to do so! There will be more on my transition to a vegan diet in my upcoming August lifestyle post!

  1. I'll definitely have to try this Ashley! I love apple & cinnamon oatmeal in the morning. This is better because it's fresher and not premade. Thanks for sharing.

    1. You will definitely like this then Kim! And way healthier than the premade! if you find it doesn't have as much flavor as the premade because it takes some getting use to, then add some more cinnamon and you'll be good to go!

  3. Oooh, this sounds so yummy!! I usually have oatmeal or cereal for breakfast in the mornings, but it gets old, having the same things over and over. This is a great way to spice it up!

  6. Sounds yummy and perfect for Fall! I'm so over this heat and humidity lol! I would like to make this except I would use 1% low fat milk and omit the pumpkin pie spice since I really dislike the taste of anything pumpkin lol. Great recipe!
