Beauty Blender Solid Cleanser Review

Hello everyone!! If you've been following my blog for a while then you know I'm in love with using a Beauty Blender to apply my foundation with!! Last time I was at Sephora I picked up the Solid Beauty Blender Cleanser. I wasn't sure at first if I wanted this because it's kind of expensive, but Beauty Blenders are really annoying to clean. I heard great things about this so I decided it give it a try. 

This is at sephora for $15. It's like a bar of soap inside the little container. I think there is a liquid form of this, but I couldn't find it (I could be wrong). 

First I'm going to say that before I used this cleanser, I used dawn dish soap to clean my beauty blender. While it worked good, it was still hard to clean. It got out all the foundation but it took a long time and I had to sit there and rinse and squeeze tons of soap out of my beauty blender over and over and over again.  Who the heck has time for that? Well apparently I did lol.

My thoughts on this product, and it is worth the money?

Yes yes yes it is definetly worth the $15. This cleanser cleans the sponge beautifully and they look brand new.

It also takes hardly any time at all to clean, and I don't have to squeeze a bunch of soap out of it like I did with the dawn dish soap. 

How to use it:

You basically just unscrew the cap of the soap, get your beauty blender wet, and then rub the dirty end into the soap. When it's pretty lathered, just squish around your beauty blender and rise it out. 

If you have a beauty blender I really recommend this cleanser! It will make cleaning it so much easier!! 

I think you can also use this to clean your brushes, but I haven't tried that yet!

Super Blender Makeup Sponge Review!

Hey All!! A few months ago I purchased the Beauty Blender from Sephora and decided that I was going to try out some cheaper alternatives to this $20 sponge and see how they compared. I purchased the Up & Up Super Blender makeup sponge from Target for $4.99. This is much more affordable and a huge decrease in price from the original Beauty Blender. The question is, is as good as the Beauty Blender? 

The back label of this package says for a full coverage look use the sponge dry, and for a lighter coverage use the sponge when it's damp. 

The first picture is of the sponge dry, and the second is of the sponge when damp. This sponge does not absorb water and expand like the Beauty Blender does.

The size of this sponge is about the same as the beauty blender while the beauty blender is damp. 

My thoughts on this product and how it compare to the Beauty Blender

The texture of the Target Super Blender sponge is very different from the Beauty Blender. While the Beauty Blender is soft and very spongy, the Target Super Blender is very hard and rubbery. 

While I was trying to apply my makeup with the Target Super Blender, it did not apply smooth or evenly. The sponge more of just patted the foundation on my face instead of blended it in and I had to go back with my fingers to blend the foundation in. I only did one side of my face with this sponge and decided it wasn't working for me. The Original Beauty Blender gives my face a really flawless look and blends foundation into my skin really nicely. The Target Super Blender Sponge didn't do anything and I found it useless.

My opinion on this is even though it's a lot cheaper, it i's definitely not worth the $4.99 that I paid for it.  I would rather apply my foundation with my fingers, or one of my Elf foundation brushes that I paid $3 for.

Even though the Beauty Blender is $20 and it seems expensive for a sponge, I don't think anything will compare to this product because it's worth every dollar that I paid for it!! I absolutely love the Beauty Blender and it is now a must have in my life for applying foundation!

 Also I wanted to say that I am in no way trying to be negative or give a negative review, but rather I am being completely honest because I don't want my readers to waste their money on products that aren't worth it!

Beauty Blender Review

Hello! I recently purchased a Beauty Blender sponge at Sephora, and I have been testing it out for a few weeks now. Beauty Blenders are $20 at Sephora, but you can probably find some online at amazon or ebay for cheaper. I always wanted to try one of these, but didn't want to pay $20 for a sponge. I know there are other brands of makeup that have beauty sponges similar to these, but from the reviews I've seen/read on them they aren't as good as the original Beauty Blender. Obviously, I broke down and bought a Beauty Blender, despite the ridiculous price for a sponge. So I am going to share my review and thoughts on this and tell you if I think it was worth the $20.

I liked the little packaging it came in. I kept this so I could use it to store my Beauty Blender so it doesn't get all dirty. (well more dirty than it already is since it gets covered in foundation lol.)

To use a beauty blender, you are suppose to run it under water, and then squeeze it out so the beauty blender is damp. After the beauty blender is damp, it expands and almost doubles in size. Than you apply your foundation to your face in patting or bouncing motions. This is suppose to create a flawless finish to your face.  It is suppose to make foundation application easy, and eliminate lines and streaks in your foundation that you can get when using your fingers and a brush. You can you the pointed side on the beauty blender to get smaller areas of you face around your nose, eyes or mouth, or you can use this side to apply concealer as well.

My over all thoughts on this product:

I had to test this product out with different foundations before I decided if I liked it and how I liked to use it. The best way that I found to use it is with a thicker, full coverage foundation. I love using it with my Kat Von D Lock-it Foundation. This foundation is kind of thick, so the damp sponge makes it really easy to apply and blend into your skin. It doesn't take away from the full coverage of the foundation which is why I like using it with this product the best. I also like to apply my Covergirl Outlast foundation.

I've found that if you apply lighter coverage foundations with this sponge, it doesn't work as well. I felt like the sponge soaked up more of the product, and it made the foundation even lighter coverage. 

The sponge is really soft, so it feels nice on the skin. There's no pulling or rubbing like if you apply your foundation with a brush or your fingers.

It does create a nice and flawless finish to my skin when I use it, and my foundation looks really natural. 

It easy to clean, but some foundations can stain the beauty blender. I heard the Revlon Color Stay foundation does this, so I have made sure not to use it with this. 

Was this product worth the $20?? Even though I really like it, probably not. I'm sure this could be made for a more reasonable price. I might try out some dupes for this that are cheaper and see if they work as well. 

Would I repurchase this product for $20?? Maybe. Let's see how long this product lasts before I need a new one and then we will see. If this last a long time then I'm okay paying the money for it, but if it doesn't last then I will probably not repurchase it.

Makeup and Lush Haul!

Hey everyone! Today I am going to share a haul from lush, Sephora, and Mac. This was only my second time at a Lush store, but it has became one of my favorite places to shop at. They have really amazing products, and they always give you a bunch of samples which is a huge plus! Buying makeup and beauty products always makes me super happy and I felt the need for some retail therapy today!

Makeup:

One of the last times I went to Sephora, I asked for a sample of the Kat Von D Lock-it Tattoo Foundation and I loved it so much that I decided to buy the full size of it. This foundation is amazing and it has such great coverage. It covers everything! I also purchased a Beauty Blender. I have not tried these before but it has been something I have been wanting to try for a while now. I was probably do a review for this product once I try it out. From Mac I needed a new eye brow pencil since I ran out of mine. This is my favorite eyebrow pencil to use. I always use it in the color Brunette. 

From Lush:

I know some of the labels on this picture are hard to see, but I purchased the small size of the Mask of Magnaminty. I mentioned this product in my skin care routine post a few weeks ago. I had some samples from my pervious time at lush and I really loved this face mask so I decided to get the small size of it. I also got 3 bath bombs (from left to right- Dragons egg, honey bee, and geo phyzz), which are also wonderful and smell amazing. I purchased a lip balm called Honey Trap, and the rest are samples that they gave me. The first one is called Ultrabland which is a cleanser and a good makeup remover. The second one is a Tea Tree Toner. The third same is called Ocean Salt, which is a face and body scrub. And the last sample I got is the Enchanted Eye Cream. I have never used an eye cream before but it is also a product that I have wanted to try out for a long time. I'm so excited to try out all of these products! Look out for reviews for these also!

I know this isn't beauty related, but I was super excited because my husband bought me a pair of Sperry's that I wanted!
