February Beauty Favorites

I'm a little late to the game on this months favorites since it's already March. I apologize again for the lack of posts lately, and I know I said last month that I was kind of meh about doing monthly favorites posts. I didn't have anything else planned or any pictures pre taken, so I picked out a few things this morning that I've been using a lot to share.

First up is my Too Faced semi sweet Chocolate bar palette that I got last month. I've been using nothing else for eyeshadow since I got this. I'm completely obsessed and it's just my favorite makeup item in the world right now.

For blush I've been using this one I got in my ipsy bag last month from ModelCo. It's easy and gives a natural flush of pink. I've also been loving the a Maybelline Fit Me matte and Poreless foundation, which I also got last month and did a review on not to long ago.

For my mascara I've been layering the Urban Decay Perversion with the Maybelline Falsies Big Eyes. I didn't care for the UD one at first but I like it layered with the Maybelline one!

Lastly I wanted to show this super beautiful compact mirror that my friend from work got me while he was in Thailand! I was in such awe when he brought it to me from when he was visiting home in Vietnam last month. It's so pretty and I love how one side has the flowers and the other has the elephant! Random fact about me- I love elephants haha! Anyways I think this is so pretty and I'm starting to collect compacts so I decided to include it in this post!! I also love things from different countries so this is super special to me.

Thank you all for reading! I promise I'll have more exciting posts up soon!

New Revlon Lash Potion Mascara Review

Today I am going to be sharing my review for the new Revlon Lash Potion by Grow Luscious Mascara. The original Revlon Grow Luscious mascara use to be my favorite drug store mascara until I discovered the Maybelline Falsies mascara. I still like the grow luscious, but it doesn't give me as great of results as the falsies do. I was really excited to try the Lash potion mascara and I really love the pretty packaging. I'm going to insert some pictures of the mascara tube, the brush, and of the product on my eyes. I will share my thoughts on this at the end, and also on how I think this product compares to the original grow luscious mascara!

Here is a close up of the mascara wand. It is not as big as the original grow luscious wand. It is smaller in both length and width.

Here is a picture of before I applied the mascara.

Here is with one coat of the mascara on the top lashes.
Here is with two coats of mascara on the top lashes and one coat on the bottom.

Overall I liked this mascara. I liked it better than the original grow luscious mascara because it makes my lashes a lot longer. The formulation of this mascara is nice because it is not too wet or too dry. It did  not make my lashes stick together as much as a lot of newly opened mascaras do. I also liked the way this applied to my bottom lashes. I am happy that I tried this mascara out, however there are still ones that I like better than this one so far so I do not think I would re purchase it.
Anyone who has tried this out feel free to comment with your thoughts!

Thank you all for reading and have a wonderful day!

Drugstore Makeup Haul

Hey Everyone! Today I am going to share a drugstore makeup haul. All of these items I purchased at either Target or Walmart. I was really excited about a few of the items that I picked up, particularly some mascaras that I wanted to try!

These items are just restock products for me. I was running out of my Maybelline Dream Matte Powder, which is my favorite setting powder, and my Elf Golden Bronzer. Then when I went to Walmart I saw that there were a ton of Maybelline Products on sale for $2 so I picked up the Instant Age Rewind Perfector powder which is another one of my favorites.

I picked up this Wet n Wild eyeshadow trio in I Dream of Greenie. I have never tried Wet n Wild eyeshadows before but I have heard that there are great and really pigmented. I have been wanting some really pretty green eyeshadows lately so when I saw this one I decided to pick it up. I will post a picture of some swatches of the colors.

The colors from left to right are the brow bone color, the crease color, and the lid color on the palette.

I have been wanting to try the L'Oreal telescopic mascara and the new Revlon Lash Potion mascara. I have heard really great things about the Telescopic mascara, and I have not heard anything about the Revlon Lash Potion yet. I just liked the pretty packaging lol. I will do a review on these mascaras once I try them out!

Thank you all for reading and have a wonderful day :)

Avon Mega Effects Mascara Review

Today I am going to be reviewing the new Mega Effects Mascara by Avon.  Avon is not a makeup brand that I normally wear, (actually this is the first product by Avon that I've tried) however while I was at work a few days ago one of my clients was an Avon rep and had commented on how long my eyelashes were. She said that Avon had gotten a new mascara in and it was a lot different from any mascara that she had tried or seen before. She also said that she would be curious to know my thoughts on this mascara so she brought me one to try out.

Sorry for the crappy lighting again! This tube was fairly small, so I am not sure if this is a sample size or if this is the full size of the product.

As you can see the brush for this mascara is very different and weird. It looks more like a paint brush than a mascara wand. To apply this mascara, you sort of just paint it on your lashes holding it upwards towards your eyelashes. It was kind of weird at first but after using this product a few times I was use to the brush. I am going to insert a close up picture of the brush so you can see it better.
This is a better close up of the brush. My client had mentioned that the brush was a lot different but she didn't really know how to explain what it looked like. I was kind of surprised when I opened it up because I have not seen anything like this either, but I was really excited to try it out. Mascaras are one of my favorite makeup products and I love trying new ones.

Here are photos of my eye without the mascara (left) and with one coat of the mascara (right). I only applied this to the top lashes in these pictures.

Here is a picture with two coats of the mascara on the top lashes, and one coat on the bottom lashes.

Here is the final look with two coats and the rest of my eye makeup on.

My thoughts on this mascara:
This mascara has a wetter formulation than I normally like in my mascaras. Sometimes when they are too wet, they make my eyelashes stick together. This one did that a little bit, but I was able to work with it and separate my lashes okay. From the way that this brush is, I didn't expect my lashes to stick together. Also sometimes after the mascara is opened for about a week or so they dry up a little bit and the formulation isn't so wet, which then I like the product better. So we will see if that happens to this one.
I liked the length that this mascara gave my lashes, but it did not give my lashes very much volume or make them look thick and fuller. I tend to like mascaras better when they give my lashes really great fullness.
One thing I did really like about this mascara is how it applied to my bottom lashes. I really liked the way they looked when I used this product on them.
Overall, I did like this product despite the few issues that I had with it. I think it's a good product and it's worth trying out! This probably is not a mascara that I would purchase because there are other ones that I like better. I am happy I got to test this out and I hope this review helps anyone who has thought about trying this mascara!

Thank you all so much for reading and I hope you all enjoyed!
