Current Skin Care Routine! Morning and Night time + Skin Care Tips!

Hello everyone! I wanted to do an updated skin care routine because my last one was way back when I first started my blog. Some of the products I used have changed, but a lot of them have stayed the same. This winter my skin has been super dry so I had to add in some new products into my skin care routine! I'm going to share my morning and nighttime routine and what I do to keep my skin healthy!

First I want to talk about my skin type a little. My face is combination oily. I don't get super super oily, but my forehead, sides of my nose, and chin get oily when I wake up in the morning and throughout the day a little bit. The rest of my skin is pretty normal but in the winter can get a little dry. My skin is sensitive and sometimes acne prone when I try out new prodcuts.

Skin care is super important to me and I try to take the best care of it that I can! I do not go a day without removing my makeup and washing my face. No matter where I am or how late it is, I always always always take my makeup off and wash my face before I sleep.

Morning Skin Care
Ideally, I like to wash my face in the morning with my Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. For days that I am running late (which is 90% of the time) I will used these Neutrogena makeup remover cleansing wipes on my face to removed any excess oil that my skin produced during the night.
*It is super important to wash you face in the morning because your skin sweats and your body gets rid of waste through your skin at nighttime, so if you don't remove this oil it will get trapped under your makeup and clog your pores.*

After I wash my face I used this Olay oil minimizing toner. I have been using this stuff for years and I have always loved it. (I also like the lush tea tree water toner, which I have talked about before but it's so dang expensive lol). After I apply my toner I used the Olay Complete all day moisturizer with SPF 15.
*Toning your skin is really important as well because it removed excess dirt, oil, and makeup from your face. Toner restore the pH balance in your skin.*

This is the Bare Minerals renew and hydrate eye cream. I use this every morning after I apply my moisturizer.

Nighttime Skine Care Routine

The first thing I do at night is remove all of my face and eye makeup with the Neutrogena markup removing cleaning wipes.

To wash my face I used the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. This is also really great for removing any excess eye makeup or mascara because it doesn't burn your eyes like any other soap would. About once a week I like to use this Neutrogena deep clean face scrub to exfoliate. I have been using this for years and it really does make my face super clean and helps with acne control. This is kind of abrasive, so if you don't like rough face scrubs then this isn't for you.
*Exfolating your skin is important because it gets rid of all the dead skin cells!*

Again just like in my morning routine I use the Olay Toner and the Olay moisturizer. I would like to get a heavier night cream to use instead of this but I keep forgetting.
*Always moisturize your skin every day and night! Even if you have oily skin this is really important. Some people think that if they have oily skin then they shouldn't put oil or moisturizers their face. The opposite is actually true. Essential oils help slow the oil production in your face. Oils such as Tea Tree Oil and even Olive Oil are anti bacterial so it helps kill the bacteria that cases your face to breakout. If you have oily skin and you don't moisturizer, you skin will produce more oil!*

For night time eye cream I used the Neutrogena rapid winkle repaire eye cream. I only used this at nighttime because It contains retina-a in it, which I heard may cause skin irritation if used too much. I do not know if this is true or not but I am playing it safe by only using it once a day!!
*Keeping your under eye area hydrated will help reduce fine lines, puffiness, and dark circles (supposedly). I am going to so a seperate post on eye creams soon to share wether I think they acutually work or not!*

About once a week I like to do a face mask. My personal favorite is the Lush Mask of Magnaminty. This helps draw out oil from your skin, and leaves your face feeling super clean and refreshed!

For spot treatments I used this Neutrogena rapid clean spot treatment. I wouldn't say this gets rid of blemishes but I do think it drys them out and minimizes them!

OK here's my secret skin care ingredient. Coconut Oil!! If you face is feeling super dry then this works awesome for hydrating and moisturizering it! I have used this a lot this winter when my face was feeling too dry. This works for an awesome eye cream as well. A little of this goes a very long way, and your face will definitely feel really oily afterwards but if you just go to bed it will all be soaked into your skin by the morning.
*Coconut oil naturally clears away dirt, grime, and dead skin cells. It contains some antibacterial properties so that's good for killing any bacteria!*

Other Body Care

To keep the rest of my skin moisturized I have been using the Aveeno positively nourishing body cream. For my lips I like to used this Lush lip scrub to exfoliate the dead skin off and then use the Lush Honey Trap lip balm. This stuff is amazing and I have never used anything better for my lips!

This concluded my skin care routine! Thank you all for reading!

What are your just have skin care products?
