Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation Review

I've been meaning I do a review for the Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation for quite some time now but I kept forgetting or I had other posts I wanted to do! I wanted to try this out for a long time because it's talked really highly of in the beauty community.

I have been using this foundation since the end of May and I think I mentioned it in a few favorites posts.
This can be found at Sephora (the full sized sephoras, not the ones in jc penny) or any Estée Lauder counters (macys, nordstroms, etc).

This was $37, which was cheaper than I thought it would be. Since most of my high end foundations that I've tried (UD, Tarte, MUFE) are around the same price, I was okay with paying the amount that this cost! I expected an Estée Lauder foundation to be $40 or more!

The packaging is nice. It's a hard glass bottle. I wish it came with a pump (actually it really bothers me that it doesn't) because I find the product kind of annoying to get out. If anyone knows of a pump that will fit this please let me know!

About this foundation-
From Estée Lauder website

"15-hour staying power. Flawless all day. This worry-free, long-wearing makeup stays fresh and looks natural through heat, humidity, nonstop activity.
Won't change color, smudge or come off on clothes. Feels lightweight and comfortable.
BENEFITS
Long-wear: 15 hours. Medium coverage. Our #1 Makeup.
COVERAGE
Medium, Buildable
FINISH
Natural, semi-matte

FORMULA FACTS
  • Oil-free
  • Dermatologist-tested
  • Non-acnegenic; won't clog pores
  • Fragrance-free"

Do I agree with all of those stated above? Yes, 100%.  Except I have not worn this for 15 hours straight, so I cannot say if that is true.

My over all thoughts-
-Like I said before, I agree with all that it claims. I feel that it is long wearing and makes my skin look flawless all day. The finish is very natural, and I do think the coverage is a very good medium to full coverage.
-The formula is on the thinner/runny side, but not as much as the UD naked skin foundation.
-They offer a wide variety of shades, for both light and dark skin tones as well as pink, yellow, and neutral undertones.
-I've applied this with both my beauty blender and foundation brushes, and hey both work well. This blends really nicely and doesn't dry too quickly so it's easy to apply.
-It doesn't feel heavy, thick or greasy on the skin. It's super light weight!

So this is a foundation that I really recommened! If you are fans of the UD naked skin, makeup forever mat velevt+, or the Covergirl outlast stay fabulous foundation, then I think you would like this one too!!

Have you tried this foundation before? If so, leave your thoughts on it in the comments!

  6. This sounds like a really lovely foundation, if it does the things it says on the bottle then i presume it would last 15 hours as well! great review, cannot wait to give this a try.

  7. I've heard that I think MAC sells a pump you can buy by itself that fits onto this foundation. I think I'm gonna get either this or the Tarte full coverage foundation for when it gets colder. I just haven't decided which one yet!

    1. Thanks for letting me know about the pump!! I really do like both of those foundations. The tarte one is a lot thicker formula but I think the coverage between the two are about the same!

  8. I tried Estée Lauder a long time ago and it worked beautifully. Like you, I had a hard time with their hard bottle packaging. It works great when full, but towards the end it's hard to get the last of the product out. They need to update their packaging. Love the sophistication of it.

    1. I agree- they totally need to update this and make a pump! Even though it's a liquidy formula, it's still hard to get out!
