Hello! I know I promised in my last skin care Sunday post that I would be reviewing a different mask for the rest of August, and I obviously failed to keep that promise. I meant to review two different Michael Todd masks, which I will review someday, and three fiber masks from BioRepublic. Well today I am reviewing the three BioRepublic masks, so at least I didn't totally disregard this months plan to review face masks!
I recieved these in an Ipsy bag a few months back. This was my first experience with sheet masks, and I was pleasantly surprised by them!
About BioRepublic
From BioRepublic's website
'BioRepublic SkinCare is a small team of skincare fanatics based out of Atlanta, USA. Our mission is to create the world's best sheet mask, using only the highest quality natural ingredients and materials. All BioRepublic SkinCare products are formulated without Parabens, Sulfates, or Pthalates and are 100% cruelty-free'
They also offer a money back gaurentee on their products!
A set of three masks is $14.95, a set of 4 is $18.99, and a set of 8 is 35.99. They have 4 different masks, so you can get a package of a mixture, or pick one and get all the same. I got to try out 3 different ones that ipsy sent me.
Also Rescue Revitalizing Fiber Mask. This has vitiman e, aloe Vera extract, and phytocollagen to soothe and hydrate the skin. It also says on the back of the package that it's great for after sun use.
Green Tea Detox Purifying Fiber Mask. This is made with vitiman e, natural green tea extract and plant collagen. This mask has tons of antioxidants and it also helps soothe and reduce belmishes and remove any excess sebum from your face.
Cucumber Breeze Soothing Fiber Mask. Also made with vitiman e, natural cucumber extract, and plant collagen. This mask helps to improve your complexion, tighten pores, and reduce fine lines.
My Thoughts
-Since this was my first time using a sheet mask I wasn't sure what to expect. The sheet was pretty comfortable to wear. The product holds it to your face so it stays in place and doesn't slip around.
-All three masks seemed pretty similar to me. I tried the Aloe one first and really liked it. I tried the Green Tea one second, and also liked it a lot and couldn't tell much difference in it. The Cucumber one was last and it seemed similar like I said, but I did notice my skin felt more dry and tight afterwards which is probably due to its tightening pores and reducing line properties.
-I did enjoy these masks but I don't think they didn't anything special for my skin. My face felt nice after I used them but I wouldn't run out any buy these, even though their price is pretty fair.
Overall if you are in the market for a new sheet mask, give these a go! I would be interested in trying out different brands of sheet masks now that I've dipped my toes into them!
Have you tried these before? What are your favorite sheet masks?
I loveeeee sheet masks! They are so easy to use and I love scaring my husband with it. Not the sexiest look but hey, it's for my good skin eh ;-)
ReplyDeleteI received these too and I do agree that I didn't notice much differences after using them. They are nice to use but like you said, I won't be rushing out to purchase them again.

Hahaha omg I felt like I looked so scary in the mask!!!
DeleteAnd tell me some of your favorite kinds so I can try them! I feel like I'm going to be on a hunt for some new ones to try!
I don't tend to use sheet masks because they always slip slide off of me, but these look nice!! I love your skincare Sunday posts
ReplyDeleteThanks Margo! These didn't slip around at all! I can see how some would though, and that would annoy me too!
DeleteSo far I have only tried sheet masks from Garnier, Tony moly, and some japanese brands that I forgot the names.. I do have the same experience with them, whether it claims to moisturize, soothing, or pore tightening, they all kinda felt the same, but I like the refreshing sensation in gives. I think sheet masks are just great for prepping skin and give extra moisturize before applying make up. I still prefer a more deep cleansing type of masks like mud or clay mask.
ReplyDeleteI prefer mud or clay masks too! I only like to use those kind once a week so I think sheet masks will be good to do inbetween. I would use s mask everyday if I could LOL!! And I'll have to check out some of those brands, thanks for mentioning them!
Deletei love sheet masks for a quick treatment.
ReplyDeleteMe too!
DeleteI'm not huge on sheet masks but the Green Tea Detox Purifying Fiber Mask does interest me.
ReplyDeleteThese were nice but I don't think it did anything to detox my face lol!
DeleteI've only tried Asian Sheet Masks and felt the same way you did Ashley. They were nice but nothing earth shattering. LOL I love the packaging for these and the fact that they're good for you. Awesome review. I didn't know about this brand.

Thanks Kim! I never heard of this brand before I got these either! I do want to try more sheet masks but o keep hearing they are nice but don't do much for the skin lol!
DeleteI love using sheet mask recently, especially during my pamper night. The one I’ve been using recently is the Etude House sheet mask. I’ve also tried Innisfree and The Face Shop sheet mask and I love them too. I recommend you to try Korean sheet mask, they are great to pamper your skin. :)

Thanks for the recommendations Renny! Ive heard great things about étude house, and Korean skin care products! I'll have to check some of them out!
DeleteI've never tried a sheet mask before, but these sound really interesting! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteIt was intetesting! My first time trying them but they were great!
DeleteI have to admit, I'm so lazy when it comes to mask-ing! LOL! I try to do a mask once a week, if not once every two weeks, I always seem to fail. I also got these in my Ipsy bag, but haven't tried them. I think I don't use masks often because I haven't found one that has rocked my world and made a huge difference.
