Becca Moonstone Highlighter

Hello! I know I promised a haul next from my Sephora VIB sale purchases, but unfortunately when I went to film it, my camera decided to let me know my memory card was full. It's the only one I have and I don't know how to empty it (sadly, I'm not very tech savvy). So I promise next week the haul will be up and I did film a makeup tutorial using some of the items, but I wanted to post the haul video first!

In the meantime, I'm going to share one of the items I picked up during the sale, which is the Becca Highlighter in Moonstone. I wanted the haul up before I started doing reviews as well, but this is such a gorgeous highlight that I wanted to share anyways! ( and my lazy ass still hasn't had any plans for posts, but considering I had some videos planned that didn't work out I can use that as an excuse??)

These run for about $38, which is why I waited for the VIB sale to purchase one. With the discount from the sale, I paid around the standard amount for cheek products at Sephora/Ulta. I think $38 is a little pricey but this highlight is worth every single penny.

These highlights promise that they are a creamy powder that absorbs and reflects lights for the ultimate natural glow.

Moonstone is described as a pale golden color, which is my favorite color for highlights.

I hear a lot of rave about the shade opal and of course the champagne pop byJaclyn Hill, but I don't see a lot of talk about Moonstone. I can see why the other two are raved about, but I think Moonstone is over looked by the two. It's such a beautiful shade, and gives the perfect glow. And who doesn't want a highlight named Moonstone??

The texture is buttery- not as much as Mary Lou Manizer by the balm, but it's more creamy that my Mac soft and gentle and Nars albatross.

It does give a gorgeous natural glow, and it's a nice highlight that's not too glittery or over the top.

I'm definitely happy I purchased this one and I can't recommend it enough!! I did consider champagne pop instead, but I've wanted moonstone since before that one came out and I think I have more highlights similar to that one already!

Have you tried Becca Highlights? Which ones are your favorite?

  1. I've only tried Becca Shimmering Perfector in Opal and it's a stunner. I have seen a few really great reviews on this too but Becca's highlighters generally get really great reviews.

Do you use more powder or liquid highlighter, Ashley? I prefer liquid due to my dry skin also, I find powder highlighter doesn't last as well on me. Maybe I'm using it wrong?

    1. I remember you mentioning that you love the opal shimmering perfector Shireen!!

And I use more powder! For some reason I can never get the liquid ones to look right on me. Which is probably because I set my foundation with a lot of powder, and I think it would cover the liquid highlight since I'd have to apply it before hand! And sometimes if you use your finger to apply a powder highlight it turns out more pigmented and lasts longer!

    2. Thanks for the tip, Ashley and I'll try with my fingers next time. Ahhh, I almost never set my foundation with powder or use any powder at all in general which would explain why I love liquid version more.

    3. I think that's why u don't use cream blush or bronzer either!! I like powder that has extra coverage haha!

  2. I've only tried out Champagne Pop so far but Moonstone has also been on my wishlist for a while! Champagne Pop is pretty much the only highlighter I've used since I bought it so in the end I think it's worth the hefty price as well, not too mention a tiny bit goes a long way with how buttery these are :>

  10. Hahaha, it's so cute that you're not very tech-savvy! If you can open the memory card folder, you can simply just highlight the ones you delete and tap delete on your keyboard, or right click them to delete. If you have any questions you can always shoot me an email, I'm terribly.... terrible at checking back on comments sometimes.

At first I wanted to get Opal cause it seems like EVERYONE loves Opal, but I found it to be too golden for me. I tried NARS Albatross as well, it was straight up gold for me lol. Champagne Pop is beautiful but I feel like it'd be too dark for me? Moonstone is perfect indeed, plus I like the name more than Opal too! Sorry for bashing on every other highlighter, kinda.

    1. LOL!! I'm so bad at tech things. And I tried to do that but it kept saying the file was unable to delete or something. I don't know, sometimes I don't understand how my Mac works lol. I might email you though!

And I think you would love moonstone then! It's s tiny bit darker then albatross but not as golden as opal or champagne pop!
