Current Everyday Makeup | Summer to Fall

Hi :)
Today I'm sharing a video on my current makeup routine. This is pretty much what I've been doing with my makeup most days for the past month or so. I can't get enough of my Morphe palettes that I purchased on vacation, so you get to see them in action here in this video!

This makeup has some red/orange tones in it, and a little bit of a darker lip color so its a perfect makeup look to transition from Summer to Fall. I'll definitely be doing more Fall makeup looks soon!

Drugstore Haul

Hello! I hope you all had a great weekend, and Easter if you celebrated it!

I'm going to share a few things that I picked up from the drugstore recently. It's mostly skin/body care so nothing too exciting, but I thought I'd share anyways because I did get two things that I haven't tried before (new things to review!!).

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser- this is just a repurchase of the cleanser I use everyday.
Shea Moisture raw Shea butter body wash- another repurchase of my favorite body wash. I tried another scent and didn't love it as much as this one!
Shea Moisture strength, grow, and restore Leave in Conditioner- this is a new product for me. Since I love the Shea moisture body wash, I've been wanting to try their hair products. These are organic, cruelty free, and free of a ton of things (sulfate, parabens, etc.). I ran out of my usual leave in conditioner so I thought I'd try this one out. My hair needs all the help it can get since its very damaged so I will definitely be doing a review on this later!
Covergirl Super Sizer Mascara- a repurchase of my holy grail mascara.
Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation- I'm seriously running out of all my foundations! I haven't purchased any new ones in forever. I put myself on a no buy for a little while but I decided to repurchase this one when I ran out last week because I love it and it's the cheapest of all the foundations I use lol!
Burt's Bees natural acne solution clarifying toner- I did a review for this a few weeks ago. It's my favorite toner at the moment, and I already ran out of the first one I purchased!
Batiste Dry Shampoo for dark and deep brown hair- I've been using the floral and flirty blush scent of this and I love it, but I wanted to try out the one for brunette hair because I hate the white cast the other ones leave if you aren't careful!! Will be reviewing this as well!

Edit: I actually ended up going to Target soon after published this post, so I'm editing it to include these two items I picked up! I found a $10 gift card in my purse so I was excited!
Wet n Wild Ombre blush in The Princess Daiquaries- I picked up a different shade of these ombre blushes a while ago but I was unsure about the color, so I've been wanting to pick up another shade so I can see if I like them!
Elf Illumanting Eye Cream- I've been dying to try out a lot of the things in Elf's skin care line. Target had this eye cream and a moisturizer, and then were out of two different things (not sure which ones). They don't have all of their skin care line but I was wanting to try this eye cream out, and since I currently don't have an eye cream I was excited to see this there!

I'll be doing reviews on both of these items too!

I'm still on a no buy (sort of!). Most of these were essential things that I ran out of and needed. I could have held off on the foundation, but hey it's only $7!

Have you picked up anything new from the drugstore lately? Let me know in the comments!

Drugstore Favorites

Hi :)
I've been meaning to do an updated drugstore favorites. I didn't want to do a top five or ten like I have in the past, so today I'm sharing all of my favorites from the drugstore. It's hard to narrow down favorites and these are all things that I love just as much as my high end makeup so I wanted to include everything.  This video is pretty long, so I'm sorry about that!

Here's some of the products, but I share a ton more in the video!

I hope you enjoy watching, and props of you actually watched the whole thing lol!!

What are some of your drugstore favorites?

Covergirl Trunaked Goldens Palette DEMO

Hello!!! I wanted to do a demo using the Covergirl trunaked Goldens Palette. I already did a full review here, and this also made on January favorites!

I've read some mixed reviews on these palettes. I read that some don't like them because of the lack in pigmentation for some of the shimmery color. When you swatch these the colors look beautiful, but some of the shades lack color when applied to the eyes. I mentioned in my review that I recommended applying the two golden shades with a wet brush on the lid. This helps the color stand out and makes them very pigmented and Metalic. So that is why I wanted to do a demo using this, so I could show you all in action how pretty this palette can be!

I hope you guys enjoy the video!

Current Everyday Makeup

Hello! I do this thing where I get stuck on one makeup look for a few weeks and do it everyday, then I'll get bored and change it. I rarely stray from whatever is my 'current makeup look' that I'm stuck on at the time unless I do something specific for a blog post or I get something new to try. Does anyone else do that, or am I just weird LOL?

I do switch up my foundations and blushes most often, but everything I'm going to show you today is what I've been using the most!

I also had a bit of a hard time yesterday with the lighting in my house, so I took some photos while I was in my car getting ready to leave for work.

Face Makeup
Benefit Porefessional Primer, Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation, Mac Pro Longwear Concealer, Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, The Balm Bahama Mama Bronzer, Wet n Wild Color Icon Blush in Rose Champagne.

Lips and Brows
Nyx Micro Brow Pencil and Australis Oh Hai Brow Kit. Milani Lip Liner in Nude and Milani Lipstick in Matte Nude.

Eye Makeup
I've been really into a darker smokey eye lately and I've been using my Tartelette palette a lot.

To get this look I use wanderer (1) as a transition shade. I use power play (2) in my crease. I use natural beauty (3) all over my lid, and bombshell (4) on my lower lash line. In this picture bombshell looks black but it's a super dark purple shade.

For my eyeliner I used Maybelline Line Stiletto and Stila Smudge Stick Eyeliner in Black in my water line. I used Covergirl Super Sizer for my mascara.

I hope you guys enjoyed this makeup look! Maybe I will do a video tutorial on it soon since its been a while since I filmed a makeup look!

Drugstore Makeup Haul

I'm going crazy over all of the new makeup that's out at the drugstore! I'm super excited because I feel like it's been quite a while since the drugstore came out with some new goodies, and a ton at once!

I tried not to go too crazy at Wallgreens, but I did pick up a few items to share in a haul. There is definitely more I want to pick up later, which I'll talk about at the end of this post.

From Maybelline I picked up the Master Fix Setting Spray. I'm always curious to see how drugstore setting spray compare to highend ones. I love the Loreal one so I wanted to see if this one was any good. I also picked up the Maybelline Master Contour Palette. I've been looking for this for a while, and then I wasn't going to get it because Rimmel came out with one too that o wanted instead. I couldn't find the Rimmel one so I decided why the heck not on the Maybelline one. I'm a sucker for face palettes anyways.

These Covergirl Trunaked palettes are ones that I've been trying to get my hands on for a while. I chose the 'goldens' palette, but all three of them are gorgeous. It says 'shades like a leading $50 eyeshadow palette'. Those are some big claims, Covergirl!

Last are two things from Wet n Wild. I'm pretty sure their Color icon blushes just got new packaging, but I picked up the shade Rose Champagne. I also picked up a Velvet Matte Lip Crayon in the shade Hickory Smoked. I haven't tried any wet n wild lip products before so I was excited about this, until I opened it up and the color looks nothing like the color on the packaging does. I was kind of disappointed in that, and I dont really like the shade it is. I'm going to play around with different lip liners and see if I can make it work.

You guys can expect reviews for all of these products, except maybe the wet n wild lip stick! I've already uses a few these that I picked up so I'll probably have reviews up next week some time!!

There is still tons of things I want to pick up fron all of these new drugstore goodies. Wet n wild has new shadow palettes out too, which I almost got but I'll wait till next time. Milani also has new palettes that look gorgeous but I can't find Milani in my town so I'll have to wait for those! Loreal has new single shadows that look gorgoues, and they also have contour/highlight palettes. As I mentioned before, I really want to find the Rimmel bronzer, blush, and highlight palettes because they look gorgoues. And Revlon has a new compact foundation that looks interesting but it's a little expensive.

Have you picked up any thing new from the drugstore lately?

Covergirl 'The Super Sizer' Mascara Review

Hello! I've been using the new Covergirl The Super Sizer Mascara that everyone and their mother has been talking about. And they've been talking about it fo good reason, at least in my opinion!

I wanted to try this because of the unique wand that I have never seen anything like! After seeing demos and reviews, I had high hopes for this one, but at the same time was skeptical because I haven't had good look with a lot of Covergirl mascara.

I think this is around $6-9 in most drugstores but I've seen it online for around $12-13.

I tried to capture the angles of the wand but then I realized the first picture is blurry (Opps!). The bristles are small and flat on some parts, and bigger on others. It tapers out at the end.

Here is how the mascara looks on my lashes.

My Thoughts
-If you couldn't tell from the intro, I really like this mascara. I was surprised at how well it made my lashes both long and full.
-The unique wand is easy to use.
-The formula is more wet, but it thickens up after a week or so.
-I don't have any fall out of flaking with this and it's easy to remove as well.

Overall I am very happy with this! I will definitely be repurchasing it after I run out!

Have you tried the new Covergirl Super Sizer Mascara yet? If so, leave your thoughts in the comments!

Splurge vs Steal

Hi :)
For today's post I'm going to talk about splurging vs steals, or highend vs drugstore stuff. There are tons of great drugstore products out there (aka the steals) but I also find that somethings in the drugstore just don't work for me, or I can't find things that compare to the quality of high end products. Now of course these are just my personal opinions on these splurge vs steal products, and I'm going to go through different categories of makeup and tell you what I think! Also let me know if you have a 'steal' that's worth sharing if I picked a 'splurge' for the category!

Primers- Splurge
For me primers are a splurge for both face and eyes. I have tried a verity of drugstore ones (especially for the face) and none have worked. My skin is sensitive and a lot of primers make my breakout so I'm sticking to the Benefit Porefessional. But most importantly, find what works for your skin weather it be drugstore or highend! As for eyes, nothing beats my Mac painterly paint pot.

Foundation- Both
I like a wide verifty of both highend and drugstore foundations! These are just two of my favorites. I use the Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundstion almost everyday. It's probably my most used foundation I own and I've gone through probably 5-6 of them. For highend Makeup Forever Mat Velvet+ has been a favorite of mine recently (and for years!) and again, just like primers, find what works for your skin!

Concealer- Splurge

Concealer is another splurge for me. I haven't found anything that compares to my Mac Pro Longwear Concealer. I so want to try a new Maybelline concealer that's new though!

Setting Powders- Steal
The Rimmel Stay Matte Powder is seriously the best I've used. And it's under $5, wooo!!

Bronzer- Splurge
Bronzers are another splurge for me. With my pale skin, a lot of Bronzers look very orange on me and that seems to be what I find with drugstore ones. I'm not saying there aren't good ones, but for my skin I can't find one. These are two of my favorite high end Bronzers. You can see my Nars Laguna is very loved, and the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil is another great one.

Blush- Both
OK I'm a serious blush hoarder. It's a problem. I usually splurge on blushes because I don't find many from the drugstore that I love, but I do love physicians formula blushes (last 3 on bottom row) and Milani baked blushes (first on bottom) are great too. For high end my favorite ones are from Nars and Benefit, but I also love Hourglass and Mac too!

Eye Shadows- Splurge
Along with blushes, I tend to hoard palettes. It's an even bigger problem LOL. I do love some drugstore palettes (Maybelline Nudes, etc) but I don't think the quality of them compares to ones from Urban Decay, Too Faced, or Lorac. These shadows are just amazing. But I will say that Makeup Geek has amazing shadows for a very cheap price!

Eyeliners- Steal
I very rarely purchase expensive liners. I just go throught them too fast and I find these ones from Loreal work just as great as high end ones. The Loreal Lineur intense liquid pencil (not shown) and the Silkissime liners are very good duped for the Urban Decay liners!

Mascara- Steal
I actually have yet to find a highend mascara that I love but I'm itching to try the new Benefit Roller Lash! I have a hard time paying for something expensive when I run out of them fast like liners. Anyways- these mascaras are some of my favorite from the drugstore and they are better than any highend ones I've tried.

Lipsticks- Both
You all know I'm a huge fan of Mac lipsticks, but I own a lot of drugstore ones too! I've really been loving the Maybelline Lipsticks recently. Mac will always be my favorite, and I love my  Nars lipsrick too but Maybelline has really impressed me!

So what do you guys think? What do you Splurge vs Steal on?? Let me know in the comments! And let me know if you would like to see more posts like this in the future!

•Extra stuff. Some upcoming posts to look forward to!
-I'm going to do a makeup brush favorites post! I haven't done one before so look forward to seeing what brushes I use everyday.
-April life post is coming up soon. I also *might* film a April beauty favorites video! No promises though he he he..
-A new post series coming up on my blog. Friday 5's. What is that all about?? Wait and see ;)

Makeup Haul #18- Ulta + Drugstore

I have a haul from this weekend to share today. I picked up a few things from ulta and some random drugstores.

These 3 things are just repurchases for me. I picked up another Benefit Porefessional and the Anastasia Brow Wiz from Ulta. I picked up the Covergirl Foundation from Walgreens. This is my 3rd tube of this!

I finally got my hands on the new Maybelline the Smokes Palette, which I also found at Walgreens. From Walmart i picked up a Maybelline Color Elixer and a blush, bronzer, and highlight trio from Hard Candy.

Lastly I got the Balm's Bahama Mama bronzer. I have been wanting this for so long! I found this at Kohls, which really made me happy because I have never seen the Balm in stores before!!

This is all for my haul post! Have you picked up anything good recently?

Covergirl Ready, Set, Gorgeous Foundation Review

Hi :)
Everytime Covergirl comes out with a new foundation, I instantly want to try it out. Ever since I tried their Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 foundation a year or so ago, Covergirl has definitely become my favorite brand of drugstore foundation. I have been so impressed with the great quality of all the ones I have tried, and the new Ready, Set, Gorgeous Foundation is no exception! I have been using this foundation for the past month so now I want to share my thoughts on it!

I believe this is about $7-8 depending on where it's purchased from.
The packaging is simple and comes in a squeeze tube. I really love the squeeze tube packaging in foundations if they don't offer a pump.

What this foundation claims to do-
One simple step for a flawless natural look that lasts all day. The formula blends easily to even out the skin tone and reduces shine all day. Oil free, won't clog pores, suitable for sensitive skin, and lasts all day.

My skin is slightly oily in my t zone, and the rest is normal. I have heard this works well with both dry and oily skin types.
I chose the lightest or second lightest shade in this and I'm super happy with the way it looks. However, the shade selection isn't the best. There was only like 5-6 shades where I purchased mine. There might be more shades available depending on where you can find it.
I do wear my foundation a tiny bit darker than my skin tone though, so if you are any paler than I am, then this might not work for you.

My overall thoughts-
-This has been my go to foundation lately and I have been neglecting my other ones to wear this. I'm so in love with this foundation!
-The formula isn't super thick, but it's not runny either which I think is perfect.
-I would say this is a medium coverage, and it blends great and looks super natural.
-This has not oxidized on me at all, which I find very rare in a foundation!
-I do believe believe in all the claims that it has. I think it has great staying power, and it hasn't irritated my skin at all!
-I have used both foundation brushes and a beauty blender to apply this, and both methods work great.
-I really recommened this foundation and I know it's definitely going to be a long time favorite of mine!

Have you tried this new foundation, or any of the other products in the Ready Set Gorgeous line??

May 2014 Favorites!

Hello! It's time to do my monthly favorites post!

I'm going to mention this first because I totally forgot to include this in the picture! I am so obsessed with this new Ready Set Gorgeous foundation by Covergirl! I have hardly been using anything else all month long.

I am also loving these eyeshadows by Makeup Geek. These are so pigmented and beautiful! I highly recommend everyone to try them out if you haven't yet! From left to right- Moondust, Mermaid, Latte.

The Benefit Porefessional had been my go to primer lately. I have also been reaching for the Benefit Rockateur Blush a lot. And this Lorac baked eye trio has been well loved this month too!

Lastly I have to mention these Nyx Butter Glosses! I picked up my first one a few weeks ago and now I just can't stop buying them! These are seriously amazing.

What are some of your favorites this month? Let me know in the comments!

Current Everyday Eye Makeup!

Hello!!! So lately it seems that I am always running late in the morning and am always rushing! I have been opting for easier and a more natural eye look because I just haven't had to time to spend on my makeup. Which is sad because I always get so excited to do my eye makeup for the day. The look that I have been doing lately is super easy and simple and I can do it in just a few minutes, so I am going to share what I have been doing almost every morning for my eye makeup. Also this is why I haven't been posting many fun makeup looks or FOTDs here on my blog! *cry*!

The Naked Bascis palette by Urban Decay has been my go to palette for the past month or two. I have also been obsessed with this Mac eye shadow called All that Glitters. I always use the Mac Paint Pot in Bare Study to prime my eyes first.

So basically after I prime my eyes, I put Naked 2 and Faint from the Naked Basics Palette (4th & 5th color)  into my crease and blended the shadows out. I used Macs' All that Glitters all over my lid. I used Venus (1st color) from the palette as my brow bone highlight, and I used Faint again under my lower lash line.

For my eyeliner I have been using L'Oreal Lineur Intense liquid liner and Mac's Smolder eye pencil on my waterline. I have been using Covergirl's Lash Perfection Mascara for my lashes.

This look is really quick and easy to do! The lighter colors in the crease are more forgiving and are easier and faster to blend out than darker and brighter colors are!
I hope you all enjoyed and thanks for reading!
