August Ipsy Bag

Hi :)
I forgot to share my ipsy bag last month for July, but I wanted to share the one i got for this month in August! You all know I've had mixed feelings lately about this subscription service, the bags are really hit or miss for me. This month was a mix of both, so let's get into what I recieved!

This months theme was 'Prep School'. It's almost back to school season, (here in Michigan we don't start till after Labor Day) so I'm guessing this bag is in honor of that.

I did like the bag this month, it's a shiny plastic-ish material which isn't my favorite, but I love the houndstooth pattern, with the pop of pink on the zipper.

Eco-beauty Goodnigt night cream. I'm testing this out right now with the day cream I got from ipsy a while back. I was actually excited about this because I just finished up the night cream I was using. So far, there's nothing special about this but I will be doing a full review of this and the day cream in a skin care Sunday post next month.

Albertini Divine Skin Hydrator. This is an 'in shower body moisturizer'. I will never use this so this wasn't too exciting for me.

Lord & Berry Lip Liner in Nude. This was the item I was most excited about. I've been super into lip liners and this is a gorgoues color. Props to ipsy for picking me a shade I don't hate.

Noyah Lipstick in Natural. This is a cute mini sized lipstick that's great for keeping in your purse because it doesn't take up too much space. The color is just okay to me, it's a little too bubble gum pink but I can't make it work with certain lip liners.

Doll 10 Beauty HydraGel blush in Flirt. This is a cream blush and it's a very pretty shade, but I don't really do cream cheek products. I may try this but I don't have high hopes for it. Also I did notice that some of the blush looked a little wet/oily, and I'll insert a picture.
I've never seen any cream blushes I've owned do that before so I was a little confused. It's probably just the oil or 'gel' separating but ugh.

Over all in going to rate this bag a 3/5 stars. I was excited about the lip liner and night cream, the bag is cute, and the lipstick is okay.

What did you recieve this month from Ipsy? I was also thinking about doing an unboxing video for next months bag so you all can see my first reaction (first impression??) to what I recieve, which is either usually really good or bad. Would you all be interested in something like that?

January Ipsy Bag

Hello! Today I'm sharing what came in my Ipsy bag this month.

This months Ipsy bag theme was 'Fresh Start'.

The first item was this Eco beauty good day daily moisturizer. I will try this out but it's not something I'm jumping up and down about.

Next is this eyeshadow from Pacifica in the color Etheral. This is a really pretty champagne color. I was excited about this one because I use shades like this all the time.

Next up is an eyeliner from Hikari in the color Storm. Pleaseeee Ipsy stop sending me silver eyeliners. I've seriously gotten 3 or 4 from them in the same color. I do not use silver colors on my eyes. Ugh!

Next is a nail polish from Probelle in the color into the blue. I love this color! I'm super excited to try this out.

Last is an eyeshadow brush from Elizabeth Mott. The color of this is cute, but I have endless amounts of makeup brushes so I this will probably never or rarely get used.

Overall thoughts
This bag was so so for me. The bag was okay, I'll probably never use it. I did like the Eyeshadow and nail polish and the brush is okay. This isn't the best bag, but it's definitely not the worst!!

December Ipsy Bag

Hi! Today I'm going to share what I got in my December ipsy bag.

This months theme is 'Thinking of You'.

First up is a sample of the Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascars. I LOVE this stuff. It use to be my holy grail mascara for a long time, until I got sick of spending $20 on a mascara and found a better drugstore one lol! I was happy to get a sample of this.

Next is a a mineral eye Polish by Cailyn. It's a really pretty, shimmery golden/champagne color. I don't really like the packaging for this. It's awakward haha but the color is super nice (swatches later).

Next is a Nyx Butter lip balm in the color parfait. I've always wanted to try these out. They are pretty sheer, but give a little color to your lips, similar to the Maybelline baby lips.

Here's the swatch to the Eyeahdow and the butter balm.

Next is the Nourish Organic eye cream. I really love trying out new eye creams so I was really excited about this one. It's a pretty decent size sample, and since you need really little product it's going to last forever.
Last is the Bumble and Bumble BB repair blow dry serum cream. I usually am less than thrilled about hair products, but I've heard good things about this brand!

Overall I was pretty happy with this months ipsy bag. I like all of the products I recieved and that's the first time that's happened in a long time!

October Ipsy Bag

I mentioned last month that I was giving Ipsy a big thumbs down for the bag I recieve. I'm going to have to say that the past few months (maybe since sping time) my Ipsy bags have been less than exciting and just meh, maybe with a few exceptions.

Let's see what I got this month and how I feel about it!

This month theme was 'Beauty Candy'.

I love the color and the quilted detail. Definitely one of my favorites I've gotten over the years.

This is a Acacia Protein BB Cream for our hair by Ecru New York.  A BB cream for your hair? What?? This is a leave in treatment that you use before you style your hair. Meh.

This is a face scrub/exfoliant by Epice. I honesty wish Ipsy would stop sending me hair mask and face cleansers. I never (ok very rarely) use them. I will probably try this one out, use it the one time, and never use it again. Again, meh.

This is a hand cream by Fig and Rouge. Ok another thing I wish they would stop sending me is hand creams, but, this one has such cute packaging that it is forgiven. I mean come on, who wouldn't want this LOL. Not to mention is smells like mangos.

This is a baked eye shadow by Jesse's Girl. You all know I love my Jesse's girl palette that I have, so I would have been excited about this but I don't wear silver/gray eyeshadows so this was not so exciting for me.

Last we have a lipgloss by Starlooks. This was the one thing that I was excited about. I do like Starlooks and it's actually a nice color. Props to Ipsy for finally sending me a lip shade that wasn't red or orange, it only took 2 1/2 years!! Anyways, this is a nice color, it's pigmented, and not sticky.

The final verdict
-This bag was just okay for me. I've definitely had worse.
-I'm excited about the lipgloss and the hand cream. I will try the face scrub and maybe the hair stuff.
-I really feel like I'm being kind of harsh and critical, and I know I can't expect a lot or like everything I get (not to mention its only $10 a month) but when you get crappy bags month after month, who wouldn't be annoyed?
-I do really like this company, so I don't want to cancle my subscription, but come on Ipsy! Step up your game! When I first signed up the bags were so great!

And also, has anyone ever tried out Beauty Box 5??

September Ipsy Bag

Time for another ipsy bag post! Is anyone tired of these posts yet?

This months Ipsy theme was Street Style.

The bag was okay. I liked the studded detail but I don't see myself using this bag a lot.

First is a moisturizing face cleanser from Nourish Organic. Next is a hand cream from Mitchelle and Peach.

I wasn't too excited about either of these items. I will try the face cleanser but I don't really like trying out new cleansers very often, or hand creams from that matter. My skin has been picky lately.

Next is a double ended brush. This was probably what I was most excited about, but really, I don't need any more makeup brushes.

A dark red/berry colored lipgloss from Cailyn.

Silver liner from Pacifica.

These both are colors I don't wear and probably will never use.

This bag gets a thumbs down for me this month! I don't really think I will use anything I got.

August Ipsy Bag

Hello! I'm going to share what I recieved in my ipsy bag this month. I didn't do a post for last months bag in July because I didn't really get anything exciting or worth sharing in it. I was excited about this months bag because after seeing some of the sneak peaks online, I had high hopes!

Let's start with the bag. I love the colors of it and think the orange and white look so cute together. Plus, polka dots.

The fist item is a (very tiny) kohl eyeliner from Lord & Berry. I was kind of disappointed on how little this was, but I acutually really like it.

The next is a delux size of the new Urban Decay Perversion mascara. This was one of the items I was super excited about and was hoping to get in my bag. I will be doing a review on this very soon!

Next is a lip balm from Absolute New York. I've been into trying new lip balms lately, so I was happy to get this. Smells so good and fruity!

Next is a shimmer glow lotion by Manna. I really didn't care for this because I don't really like shimmery lotion. It was a meh/pointless item for me.

Lastly is a delux size of a Glam Glow mask. I was sooo excited for this! I've heard such wonderful things sboit glam glow! I already tested it out, and might of a review but I am not likely to purchase this full sized product because who the heck has $90 to spend on a face mask LOL. Regardless, I was happy to try it out!

Overall I was happy with what I recieved and it was definitely better than last months bag!

June Ipsy Bag 2014

Hello! I've said this before but my favorite time of the month is when I get my Ipsy Bag! I get so excited especially when I don't look at the sneak peaks so it's all a total surprise!

This months theme was 'Pretty in Paradice', and I was pretty excited when I heard that Rebecca Minkoff was designing the bag for this month!

The bag is cute and tropical looking with pineapples and palm trees.

The first thing I got was the Marc Anthony beachy wave hair spray. I have not tried this yet, but I will definitely try it soon!

I was so excited to see a Nyx Butter Gloss in my bag! I've mentioned recently that I'm super obsessed with these at the moment. The color I got is in Creme Brûlée, which sadly, I already own. But it's okay because now I can throw this one in my purse!

This picture might be a bit blurry, but it's the OFRA universal eye brow pencil. I was excited to see this because I have not recieved any brow products in an ipsy bag before. I tried this out and it's really waxy so I'm not sure how I feel about it yet.

This is the Realtree perfume for women. It's in nice packaging because it has a little pump to spray it with. This stuff smells soooo good! I was so surprised on how much I liked the scent!

This is the Be a Bombshell Lashout Mascara. I was excited because I have liked other products by Bombshell in the past. I tried this and the formula was super dry and didn't work for me at all.

Overall I thought this was a pretty good month for my Ipsy Bag!

May Ipsy Bag 2014

It's Ipsy bag time!

This months theme was 'Fresh Picks'. I think this was geared towards spring and getting ready for summer and warmer weather.

So what did I get?

I actually like the bag this month. I just wish it didn't say ipsy all over it. I love the leaves and earthy colors/details.

This is the Pacifica mineral eyeshadow duo. This looks almost exactly like the Stila All Over Shimmer Duo, which I already own. I didn't include swatches, but the pigmentation for the bronze shade is great, but the pink side is a little light and chalky. I will probably use this for a highlight rather than an eyeshadow. I was excited about this because I haven't got anything like this before in an ipsy bag!

The next is a mini delux sample of the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer. I own the full size of the milk chocolate one, but I always wondered if I would like the original one better! I'm excited to try this out with out buying the full size.

This is the Eva NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask. I don't really use hair masks (even though I really should). I hope I try this one out though!

This is sunscreen by the brand Hang Ten. It's called Classic Sport SPF 50. This is a nice travel size sunscreen that I can take with me easily. I usually hate sunscreens but this one doesn't smell too strong of SPF and it's not greasy at all. It actually has a slight coconut/tropical scent to it.

This is the Avene Thermal Spring Water Spray. I don't really understand what this is exactly. The description says it's a pure spring water mist that benefits sensitive skin by reducing redness, itchiness, and inflammation. I have never used anything like this before and I'm somewhat skeptical.

Overall this bag was decent because of the bronzer and shadow duo!
