Covergirl Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation Review

Hello! I hope you all had a great weekend. I feel like it's been a while since I posted on my blog, even though Thursday was only a few days ago it seems longer.
Today I'm going to review the new Covergirl Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation. I planned to do this review last week, but I ended up doing a post (aka rant) about my ipsy bag instead. The Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 foundation is one of my favorites, and since I've had really good luck with quite a few Covergirl foundations I thought I would give the Stay Luminous a go.

You can find this between $10-13 in the drugstore. I got mine at Rite Aid for $12-13.

Foundation Claims

Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation
Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation’s oil-free, non-greasy formula gives your skin a natural luminosity that lasts all day! Perfect for achieving radiant skin, this all day foundation hydrates skin while providing flawless coverage.

I usually don't go for luminous foundations because I do have slightly oily skin. I didn't find this super luminous, but if you do have really oily skin then I wouldn't recommend this. When I first apply it, it looks really wet and shiny on my skin, but after it dries and I apply setting powder it's not shiny or luminous at all.

The formula is thicker, but it doesn't feel heavy on the skin. It looks natural and it blends really well. I've only tried it with my beauty blender, but it gives my skin a flawless finish.  I would say it's a medium coverage foundation that is buildable. It covers all redness on my face but I still use concealer for my blemishes and scars.

The only problem I have with this foundation is at the end of the day my face looks oily. I'm sure blotting or using a setting powder would take care of this, but most of the time I'm at work or too lazy to do so.

My overall thoughts-
If you have dry skin, I would give this a go, but for my oily skin gals- skip out. If you have combo oily skin like me, then you might like it.
I do like this, but I perfer the outlast stay fabulous foundation. I'll use this up, but I won't repurchase it.

Havr you tired the new Covergirl Stay Luminous Foundation? If so, leave your thoughts on it in the comments!

  2. I haven't tried any Covergirl foundations lately. A shiny face is never a good thing, and you don't even live in a high humidity area Ashley! Can you imagine if I wore this in New Orleans!?! HOT & HUMID! LOL The outlast stay fabulous sounds much better. I'm like you, I've got to try things! This was an awesome review. You always tell like it is. Thumbs UP!

  5. I don't think I've tried any foundations from Covergirl, my skin has been oily lately, so I think I'll take your advice and skip lol Great review! Quick question since you said you have combination skin, what products do you use when your skin is oily?

    1. Thank you Pilar! And yes I would skip this. The outlast stay fabulous by Covergirl is a better option for oily skin.
I've been using a skin care set by Michael Todd for combo oily skin, but i really don't like it much. I perfer their set for oily/acne skin. It helped control my oil a lot. And Ive been using witch hazel for my toner which is awesome. And as for foundations I like the Estée Lauder double wear or the makeup forever mat velvet foundation!

  7. Thanks for the heads up on this one! I have slightly oily skin, but I have a huge problem with foundations getting too shiny. I don't like foundations that are too matte, but I need them to stay without sliding away! Great review!

    1. Thank you Lauren! And yes I would skip this one! I used a good primer and it was still shiny at the end of the day!
