Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette Review

*Hello!*

During the Sephora VIB sale I picked up the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette. This is definitely a 'luxary' item for me and it's something that I would not have picked up without the 20% off coupon that I had.

For so long I saw so many people talk about this on YouTube and in the blog world and it's something I always wanted but never thought I would have. I didn't exactly understand how to use it so I did a lot of research on it before I got it.

From left to right- Dim Light, Incandescent Light, and Radiant Light.
 This retails for $58.

I'm going to post some info on these from the Hourglass website.

"Create your perfect light with this palette featuring three shades of Ambient Lighting Powder. Each of the high-tech, soft-focus finishing powders recreates an exquisitely flattering light source. The powders can be applied individually or layered to imbue skin with a multidimensional glow."
• Powders mimic universally flattering light sources, not unlike having a personal lighting technician at your disposal.
• By manipulating and filtering out harsh light, powders conceal skin imperfections, pores and wrinkles.
• State-of-the-art formula delivers a multi-dimensional luminescence to every skin tone, making it appear softer, younger and perfectly lit.
• Universal powders make them suitable for every skin tone, while each can be worn day and night.
• The finishing powders enhance skin in any type of light, including flash photography.

So bascially in a nutshell, these powders are used to 'mimic' how your skin looks in different light sources to give you a flawless finish.

When I fist saw these I thought they were all highlighting powders. They are more so finishing powders that give you a natural glow without looking like you have just highlighted your whole face.

Now for some info about each powder
• DIM LIGHT: A neutral peach beige powder that blurs imperfections and highlights a radiant complexion with the perfect balance of warm and cool tones.
• INCANDESCENT LIGHT (exclusive to the palette): An opalescent pearl powder that brightens the complexion with a celestial glow.
• RADIANT LIGHT: A sun-kissed golden beige that enhances the overall complexion with believable, subtle warmth, and also extends a summer glow.

Swatches

Dim Light, Incandescent Light, Radiant Light
These look way more shimmery and pearlized then do on your skin, which you will see in the picture below.

Radiant light, Incandescent light, Dim light

How I use these
-So bascially, I use Dim Light all over my face. I use it after I apply setting powder, my blush and my bronzer.
-I use Incanscent Light to highlight my cheek bones.
-I use Radiant Light over my bronzer and blush in my cheek area. I think this one would be nice all over the face in the summer too.

My overall thoughts
-I am seriously in love with this palette and I think it's well worth the money. It might not seem like it's super spectacular, but once you use it/see it in action, it's amazing.
-I use Dim light and Incandescent light everyday, but I hardly use Radiant Light. That one is still something I need to play around with more.
-These look a lot more shimmery swatched then they do on your face, I like I said earlier. They blend out to a nice glow.
-The Incandescent light is seriously the most gorgoues highlight I've ever used.
-These look so natural and beautiful on the skin. I'm not really into super glowy/dewy looks but this one just looks like your skin has a natural glow to it!
-I would definitely purchase the full size of Dim light, sadly Incandescent light is only exclusive to this palette!!

Have you tried out this Ambient Lighting Palette?? If so, leave your thoughts on it in the comments!

Sephora VIB Sale Haul

Hello!!  Today I'm going to share what I picked up during the Sephora VIB sale! I think I missed out on this sale last year, so I was pretty excited for this one! I  picked up a lot of things that I normally wouldn't have spent money but did since everything was 20% off. I was also hoping to make Rouge status during this sale, but I sill have about 115 more points to go!

This is the bag they gave everyone who shopped at the sale. I don't know if this was online also or only in stores. I was pretty excited because it's so cute haha!

This one is just a repurchase for me. I'm almost out of mine so I thought I would get one while I had a coupon.

This is the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer. I have been wanting a new primer because my skin has been acting up lately and I'm not sure if it was the primer I was using. I've heard so many great things about this primer, and when I was in Sephora I told the lady who was helping me about my skin issue that I mentioned above and she immediately directed me to this one. I'm really excited to try it out!
This is the Houglass Ambiant Lighting Palette. This is something I've wanted for a long time but just never thought I would get. I knew right away it was going to get with the coupon!

This blush is from the Nars holiday collection and in the color Almeria. This looks more red in the picture than in person. I'll do a review on this with swatches later so you can see the color better. This was discribed as a 'tan rose'.  One of the ladies who was helping me put this on my cheeks and I fell in love! Which also leads to my next purchase below haha.
And this is the Nars Yachiyo brush. This was a splurge for sure but after seeing it in action in the store I had to have it lol. The lady using it on me said this brush is great for contour, blush, and highlighting.

This is the Gucci Guilty perfume. I had total intention of getting the Lavanilla Pure Vanilla perfume but I got a sample pad of this in a sephora catalog, and I heard someone on YouTube talking about this so I just smelled it out and put it on out of curiosity. I knew I wanted this one instead because it smells so freaking good! I put in on in the store today around noon and the scent lasted all day! I'm talking until 8:30 pm when I washed it off. Talk about long lasting!

If any of you have tried this products before let me know what you think of them!!

Did you pick up anything from the Sephora VIB sale?? If so let me know what you got in the comments!

Beauty Haul #11- Drugstore and Sephora!

Hello! You know how it goes when you get a 15% off coupon from Sephora- you must buy things. It's like they put a little voice inside your head that says 'yes you need that because it's on sale so why not?' LOL so pathetic but I'm sure every beauty blogger I know can relate! So I did a little shopping online at sephora and picked up a few things from target that I needed!!

From Target

First I ran out of my Netrogena face scrub so I picked up a new one. Also I wanted to try out this L'Oreal Sublime Brozne self tanner. Someone at my work had this on and it looked really great, which I know that doesn't necessary mean that it's going to work for me I know. But pleaseeee if any of my readers have tried this let me know what your thoughts on it are! Self tanners kind of scare me to be honest. Lol.

I picked up another Maybelline Falsies mascara. This is one of my favorite mascaras and I haven't used it in a while so it was time for a new one. I believe this is just the original formula.

I also picked up some new face moisturizers to try out. The Olay one is a a night cream, which I have never tried before. I have loved all of the Olay moisturizers that I have tried before so I have high hopes for this! The next one is the Aveeno positivly radiant daily moisturizer. I haven't tried any Aveeno face prodcuts before, but I have been really pleased with everything else that I have tried from them recently!

From Sephora
Ok on to the good stuff!

First let's talk about this Hourglass blush!
It's in the color Mood Exposure. I have wanted this for so long and I finally decided to pick it up with my coupon! I debated between one of these or the new Clinique ones that look like a flower. I chose this one because I have been eyeing it for the past few months. I am so beyond excited about it.

Next are these two items by First Aid Beauty. I have heard so many great things about this brand. The first item is actually one that I got for 100 of my sephora points. I surprised on how big it was for a delux sample! It's the Facial Radiance Polish, which I think is a exfoliant. I haven't played with it yet so I'm not sure. The next one is the Ultra Repair Cream. I wanted to try this because I needed a good hand cream. My hands are so dry lately it's insane. This size was $12, so not bad.

I picked up another Anastasia brow wiz because I was out of mine.

And last this is another item I got for 100 of my Sephora Points. I love my other Buxom Lipgloss so I figured why not get another one. I think this is in the color Sophia and it's similar to my other one but I will probably finish that soon!

Thank you all for reading and I hope you enjoyed my haul :)
