September Ipsy Bag + Unboxing Video

Hello!! On my last months ipsy bag post, I asked you guys if you'd be interested in seeing an unboxing video for this months bag. A lot of you said yes, so I filmed the video! I wanted to do an unboxing video because I've had mixed feelings about ipsy and a lot of my bags have been really blah and not very exciting. This way you guys could see my initinal reaction and first impression on the bag.

So here's the video if you guys want to watch. If not, then I'll post some pictures below too.

Here's what I recieved this month. I'm or going to go into detail, If you fits want to see my thoughts then click the video!

*Also I was wondering if you guys like it when I make a post here on my blog that I've made a YouTube video or not. I'm working really hard on my videos right now, and I don't want you to feel it's taking away from my blog when I'm posting videos on here too. It's kind of hard to balance both, so if you all would rather me just do written blog posts here instead of linking my videos along with them, let me know!!*

August Ipsy Bag

Hi :)
I forgot to share my ipsy bag last month for July, but I wanted to share the one i got for this month in August! You all know I've had mixed feelings lately about this subscription service, the bags are really hit or miss for me. This month was a mix of both, so let's get into what I recieved!

This months theme was 'Prep School'. It's almost back to school season, (here in Michigan we don't start till after Labor Day) so I'm guessing this bag is in honor of that.

I did like the bag this month, it's a shiny plastic-ish material which isn't my favorite, but I love the houndstooth pattern, with the pop of pink on the zipper.

Eco-beauty Goodnigt night cream. I'm testing this out right now with the day cream I got from ipsy a while back. I was actually excited about this because I just finished up the night cream I was using. So far, there's nothing special about this but I will be doing a full review of this and the day cream in a skin care Sunday post next month.

Albertini Divine Skin Hydrator. This is an 'in shower body moisturizer'. I will never use this so this wasn't too exciting for me.

Lord & Berry Lip Liner in Nude. This was the item I was most excited about. I've been super into lip liners and this is a gorgoues color. Props to ipsy for picking me a shade I don't hate.

Noyah Lipstick in Natural. This is a cute mini sized lipstick that's great for keeping in your purse because it doesn't take up too much space. The color is just okay to me, it's a little too bubble gum pink but I can't make it work with certain lip liners.

Doll 10 Beauty HydraGel blush in Flirt. This is a cream blush and it's a very pretty shade, but I don't really do cream cheek products. I may try this but I don't have high hopes for it. Also I did notice that some of the blush looked a little wet/oily, and I'll insert a picture.
I've never seen any cream blushes I've owned do that before so I was a little confused. It's probably just the oil or 'gel' separating but ugh.

Over all in going to rate this bag a 3/5 stars. I was excited about the lip liner and night cream, the bag is cute, and the lipstick is okay.

What did you recieve this month from Ipsy? I was also thinking about doing an unboxing video for next months bag so you all can see my first reaction (first impression??) to what I recieve, which is either usually really good or bad. Would you all be interested in something like that?

June Ipsy Bag

Hello hello!!
I hope this post doesn't turn into a rant, but I didn't show my last months ipsy bag because it was disappointing and wasn't worth showing. It's the same case for this month but I'm going to show it anyways. I had months of crappy bags and then I had a few good ones so I was having hope that ipsy was stepping up their game. Now I'm back to being disappointed. Well, as disappointed that I can be paying only $10 a month :p

This months theme was Swim Into Beauty with a waterproof makeup bag.

These masks were the only thing I was kind of excited about, but only because I got three of them. They are from Bio Repulic and they are fiber masks. One is detoxing, one revitalizing, and one is soothing. I haven't tried anything like these before so I may do a review on them.

Next up is the Smashbox Photo Ready Primer. Now I think most would be excited about this but I am not because I already know this doesn't agree with my skin and breaks my face out.

I don't get excited about body butters or lotions in my bags. I have tons of lotions that I already use and my skin is sensitive so this is a big dud for me. It's by the brand Lavanilla which I have always wanted to try so I thought maybe it will be okay. No. This smells like straight up perfume and not a pretty soothing vanilla hand lotion like I was expecting.

Next up is a shadow stick by trèStique. I normally like stuff like this but I don't care for the color. I usually only like to use cream shadows on my lids and this is definitely not a lid color. I will give props for the cute packaging that looks like a crayon though!

Next is this god awful magenta lip crayon. I just cannot wear lip colors like these. They look great on a lot of people but I can't do it. Ipsy is famous for sending me the worst lip colors, I swear every month I get them.

So this bag gets a big thumbs down for me. I've considered unsubscribing but I wish there was another subscription box that was good that didn't cost an arm and a leg LOL. I'm too cheap to pay over $10 and all the ones I want are over $20 haha!

March Ipsy Bag

Hi :)
Today I'm going to share what came in my ipsy bag for this month! Let me tell you, I was so excited about this one. It's by far the best one I've gotten in a long time!

This months theme was 'Floral Fantasy'. The bag is super cute and has cute colors in it.

First is the eyeshadow duo by Pixi called Apricot Glow. How freaking pretty is this? This was probably the thing I was most excited about. The colors are so nice and they are the colors I wear the most so it's perfect and so little and cute. Plus I've never tried Pixi shadows before so I'm excited to try them.

Next is the Boo Boo Cover Up concealer. I've heard really good things about this so I was really excited to get one in my bag!

Next is a Nyx butter lip stick in Pops Explosif. I actually already own this but I love it so now I'm just going to throw it in my purse. Finally ipsy sent me a lip color that I will actually wear!

The last two items are a hair oil and a face cleanser. On the left is the Cool Way Glow Oil Treatment. I love hair oils and use one everyday so I can't wait to try it out. On the right is the Pur-Lisse gentle soy milk cleanser and makeup remover. I do like trying out new face cleansers, and this one I tried already and it seems super gentle and nice on the skin!!

So overall this months bag was really good I thought! I was happy with everything and it's all stuff that I will definitely use!

November Ipsy Bag

Hello!!! For my past two Ipsy Bag posts I ranted a little bit that I wasn't enjoying them. I was getting crappy bags month after month and it was a little disappointing. Thankfully, this months bag was a total hit for me!

This months theme was Girl meets Glitter. The bag is sparkly silver and I like it better than some of the bags in the past, but it's nothing special that caught my attention.

First is this Be a Bombshell eye base in the color submissive. It's a pretty bronze color and I can see myself using this a lot!

Next is a Black liquid liner with silver glitter by Elizabeth Mott. This will be nice for the holiday time if I want some glitter on my eyes!

I'm usually not too thrilled when I get hair products, but this is a travel sized hairspray by Marc Anthony. I don't mind getting hairsprays because I like to keep these little ones in my purse.

I've seen this in some pervious Ipsy bags but it's not one that I have gotten before. It's a liquid highlighter by Temptu. I usually don't use liquid highlights but it will be nice to mix in with my foundation if I want an extra glow. It's a really pretty pearly color.

This last one was something I was super excited about. It's the J. Cats wonder lip paint. I haven't been very impressed with the J Cats brand in the past, but I really do like this lip paint. The color is a little too red for me by its self, but I wore it over my favorite Nars berry lipstick (shown in my last FOTD post!) and I really loved the combo!

Here is swatches of all the products! The lip paint actually isn't as dark as it looks onces it's blended out.

So I am pretty happy with this Ipsy bag. It's the best one I've gotten in a while!

October Ipsy Bag

I mentioned last month that I was giving Ipsy a big thumbs down for the bag I recieve. I'm going to have to say that the past few months (maybe since sping time) my Ipsy bags have been less than exciting and just meh, maybe with a few exceptions.

Let's see what I got this month and how I feel about it!

This month theme was 'Beauty Candy'.

I love the color and the quilted detail. Definitely one of my favorites I've gotten over the years.

This is a Acacia Protein BB Cream for our hair by Ecru New York.  A BB cream for your hair? What?? This is a leave in treatment that you use before you style your hair. Meh.

This is a face scrub/exfoliant by Epice. I honesty wish Ipsy would stop sending me hair mask and face cleansers. I never (ok very rarely) use them. I will probably try this one out, use it the one time, and never use it again. Again, meh.

This is a hand cream by Fig and Rouge. Ok another thing I wish they would stop sending me is hand creams, but, this one has such cute packaging that it is forgiven. I mean come on, who wouldn't want this LOL. Not to mention is smells like mangos.

This is a baked eye shadow by Jesse's Girl. You all know I love my Jesse's girl palette that I have, so I would have been excited about this but I don't wear silver/gray eyeshadows so this was not so exciting for me.

Last we have a lipgloss by Starlooks. This was the one thing that I was excited about. I do like Starlooks and it's actually a nice color. Props to Ipsy for finally sending me a lip shade that wasn't red or orange, it only took 2 1/2 years!! Anyways, this is a nice color, it's pigmented, and not sticky.

The final verdict
-This bag was just okay for me. I've definitely had worse.
-I'm excited about the lipgloss and the hand cream. I will try the face scrub and maybe the hair stuff.
-I really feel like I'm being kind of harsh and critical, and I know I can't expect a lot or like everything I get (not to mention its only $10 a month) but when you get crappy bags month after month, who wouldn't be annoyed?
-I do really like this company, so I don't want to cancle my subscription, but come on Ipsy! Step up your game! When I first signed up the bags were so great!

And also, has anyone ever tried out Beauty Box 5??

September Ipsy Bag

Time for another ipsy bag post! Is anyone tired of these posts yet?

This months Ipsy theme was Street Style.

The bag was okay. I liked the studded detail but I don't see myself using this bag a lot.

First is a moisturizing face cleanser from Nourish Organic. Next is a hand cream from Mitchelle and Peach.

I wasn't too excited about either of these items. I will try the face cleanser but I don't really like trying out new cleansers very often, or hand creams from that matter. My skin has been picky lately.

Next is a double ended brush. This was probably what I was most excited about, but really, I don't need any more makeup brushes.

A dark red/berry colored lipgloss from Cailyn.

Silver liner from Pacifica.

These both are colors I don't wear and probably will never use.

This bag gets a thumbs down for me this month! I don't really think I will use anything I got.

August Ipsy Bag

Hello! I'm going to share what I recieved in my ipsy bag this month. I didn't do a post for last months bag in July because I didn't really get anything exciting or worth sharing in it. I was excited about this months bag because after seeing some of the sneak peaks online, I had high hopes!

Let's start with the bag. I love the colors of it and think the orange and white look so cute together. Plus, polka dots.

The fist item is a (very tiny) kohl eyeliner from Lord & Berry. I was kind of disappointed on how little this was, but I acutually really like it.

The next is a delux size of the new Urban Decay Perversion mascara. This was one of the items I was super excited about and was hoping to get in my bag. I will be doing a review on this very soon!

Next is a lip balm from Absolute New York. I've been into trying new lip balms lately, so I was happy to get this. Smells so good and fruity!

Next is a shimmer glow lotion by Manna. I really didn't care for this because I don't really like shimmery lotion. It was a meh/pointless item for me.

Lastly is a delux size of a Glam Glow mask. I was sooo excited for this! I've heard such wonderful things sboit glam glow! I already tested it out, and might of a review but I am not likely to purchase this full sized product because who the heck has $90 to spend on a face mask LOL. Regardless, I was happy to try it out!

Overall I was happy with what I recieved and it was definitely better than last months bag!

May Ipsy Bag 2014

It's Ipsy bag time!

This months theme was 'Fresh Picks'. I think this was geared towards spring and getting ready for summer and warmer weather.

So what did I get?

I actually like the bag this month. I just wish it didn't say ipsy all over it. I love the leaves and earthy colors/details.

This is the Pacifica mineral eyeshadow duo. This looks almost exactly like the Stila All Over Shimmer Duo, which I already own. I didn't include swatches, but the pigmentation for the bronze shade is great, but the pink side is a little light and chalky. I will probably use this for a highlight rather than an eyeshadow. I was excited about this because I haven't got anything like this before in an ipsy bag!

The next is a mini delux sample of the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer. I own the full size of the milk chocolate one, but I always wondered if I would like the original one better! I'm excited to try this out with out buying the full size.

This is the Eva NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask. I don't really use hair masks (even though I really should). I hope I try this one out though!

This is sunscreen by the brand Hang Ten. It's called Classic Sport SPF 50. This is a nice travel size sunscreen that I can take with me easily. I usually hate sunscreens but this one doesn't smell too strong of SPF and it's not greasy at all. It actually has a slight coconut/tropical scent to it.

This is the Avene Thermal Spring Water Spray. I don't really understand what this is exactly. The description says it's a pure spring water mist that benefits sensitive skin by reducing redness, itchiness, and inflammation. I have never used anything like this before and I'm somewhat skeptical.

Overall this bag was decent because of the bronzer and shadow duo!
