My Life in June

This year is officially half over. I think we can all agree that time goes by way too quickly. I'm skipping my usual Friday Favorites post today to share my monthly life update!

This June lifestyle post is going to be a little different than my usual ones. I'm not going to share random things that I did, but rather just sit and talk about what's going on in my life. This post is one that I've been looking forward to writing, because I have to much to share. But it's also one that I've been dreading because this is probably the most personal thing that I've written here on my blog. I've been reluctant because I'm really and truly sharing not only a piece of my life today, but a piece of my heart.

First and Foremost- after a lot of thought, overthinking, discussions with my husband, worry, stress, and tears, I decided to leave my job that I've been at for 6 years. It was a very hard decision, and to be quite honest, it was a decision that I should have made probably 5 years ago. I left for many different reasons which I won't get into, but mainly and most importantly, I left because I wasn't happy and I never have been. I really hate to use the word 'never' because while that is mostly true, it's also not. I worked for a small family owned business, so all of my co workers also became like family to me, and I was like family to them. I became very close with everyone I worked with, and that was very hard to let go of and probably what has kept me there for so long. One of my best and closest friends worked with me, and that alone was enough to keep me there for as long as I was. My heart literally broke when I told my boss that I was leaving. But I also knew that this decision was for the best and that you can only move forward in life, and I couldn't do that while I was there. Leaving also came with lots and lots of tears, but also with a huge relief and weight off my chest.

So what am I doing now? A little bit of everything, and a little bit of nothing. And I want to say nothing very loosely, I really just mean I've taken a lot of much needed time to relax and focus on myself (more on this later!). Working as much as I did left little time to do things that I wanted to do, and things that I needed to do. For 5 years I only had Sunday's off and having only one day off was very hard to keep up with errands, housework, etc. And in the last year at my job I went down to 4 days and had three days off, but frankly I didn't want to do anything on my days off. I wanted to relax because I knew I had to go to work in the next day and be stressed and unhappy.

I've always thought of all the things I would want to do if I didn't work so much. I said I would do yoga, I'd workout more, I would have time for housework, to cook healthy meals, I'd have more time for friends and family, I could actually do things on weekends if I didn't have to work every Saturday. My desire for those things was so strong, and I couldn't have them. Now I can and it feels pretty damn amazing. Now I can do all those things. I feel free and excited.

I've had more time for blogging and YouTube. I use to dread filming videos because they took up so much time. Now I'm actually excited to film and edit. I have so many ideas and dreams that I'm working hard to create and achieve, and I couldn't be more excited. I'm working on some things that I will hopefully be announcing next month and I can't wait to share them with you.

So basically I've finally put my happiness first when I left my job. It was a first step that I've needed to take for so long. I've been really focused on achieving happiness and working on myself. I've felt this need and will to truly be happy, find inner piece, and work on self love. My heart literally aches with need for those things. I know everyone is always on a journey to find themselves, but my journey has never felt so real. I'm really working on finding things that are important and make me happy. I'm someone who overthinks everything, has anxiety, constantly worries, gets upset too easily over stupid things, and I'm very hard on myself, and I'm just trying to let go of all that. Let go of negative things and be more positive, and truly appreciate all life has to offer. With all that being said, I've also been working on disconnecting from my phone and social media more, especially when I'm spending time with others. When I'm with someone, I don't want to be checking my Instagram and facebook, I don't want to be texting other people. I truly want to focus on who I'm with, even and especially if I'm just spending some time with my husband at home. Also, when I'm by myself I'm trying to disconnect as well so I can focus on the things I'm doing and I how I'm feeling when I'm focusing on myself. Sometimes I just don't want to be bothered and I enjoy my alone time. I don't want to be caught up in the world and other people's lives and drama, and those who bring that to me. I just want to be, and let things be. I've always been someone who enjoys being alone, but I've never fully embraced it. I've realized how important it is to be happy and do what you love, and I honesty couldn't thank my husband enough for helping this be possible for me.

This post is ridiculously long, but I honesty put a lot of emotion and honestly into this. I've let my heart and emotion out. I'm someone who rarely tells anyone how I truly feel, which is something else I'm working on. I'm learning to embrace my feelings, whether they are good, bad, or ugly. So I really wanted to say thank you to anyone who took time out of their day to read this. And if you've read the whole thing, big props and a big thank you!

I'm excited and motivated for the future. And like I mentioned earlier, I have a ton of things planned that I'm working on and I will hopefully be sharing them with you very soon! July, I'm coming for you.

March Lifestyle Post!

Hello hello!!
Today I'm going to share what I was up to in March. I will link my 'Document your Life' video at the end of this post, just like I did for the past two month.

So tell me, do you guys enjoy these life/personal posts that I have been doing? Let me know in the comments!!

Hubby bought a new car so that is super fun and exciting. It's a 2002 Corvette that's in perfect condition. It's like brand new!

We had a St. Pattys day party on the 14th. I didn't take many pictures sadly, so here's one of me and hubz.

It was my best friends birthday this month so to celebrate we spent the day in Ann Arbor and got some Pho and bubble tea.

Since I was sick, I spent a lot of time in bed with my cats. And taking pictures of them LOL.

I got to see my niece and nephew a few times which is always great.

Sunday was my moms birthday!

Me and hubby went to see Insurgent finally!

And last picture is of when me and hubby went to The Rough Draft, which is a local coffee and barroom in our town. We went there for lunch and they have the best lattes ever. They put them in these beer glasses so I thought they looked cool lol!

Extras
-I also finally got around to watching Mockingjay Part 1. I have mixed feelings about it.

-I ended up reading 4 books this month. I finished up the last book in The Tea Rose series, The Wild Rose, which is the book series I've been talking about for the past few months. I also read The 5 Love Languages. Have any of you read this?? You guys, this book is incredible. Next I read The Summer I Turned Pretty, which was okay. And lastly I read Silver Linings Playbook. Which was also just okay. I want to watch the movie but I didn't care for the book much. Last night I started reading Fall of Giants by Ken Follett.

- I finished up Gossip Girl on Netflix and I'm sad it's over. Now I'm watching Switched at Birth and it's super good! I'm also catching up on the new Vampire Diaries that's currently playing on tv. And we're addicted to American Idol!

-Me and hubby are currently playing Final Fantasy 9. He played it years ago but wanted to replay it with me. It's got a pretty good story line too! I'm also getting back into playing WoW. I bet you guys didn't know I'm a video game nerd ha ha ha!

That's all I think I have to talk about! This post was super long so I'm going to end it and link my video! Thank you all for reading!

July Lifestyle Post-4th of July Weekend

Hello! It's been a while since I did a life post update. I use to do them weekly, but I got kind of bored doing that. For a while I have been meaning to do monlthy ones, but I kept forgetting! I'm going to try to do these every month, and either do a life update or just talk about certain lifestyle topics that I have in mind!

So now I'm going to start with July, and yes I know it's the beginning of the month, but I wanted to do this for 4th of July weekend! I had some extra time off work so this weekend was eventful for me and I wanted to share it on my blog!!

I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend like I did, and now I'll share some pictures that I took!

So on the 4th my husband and I went to the beach/park with some friends and we hung out there for most of the day. We grilled some great food and had a really great time!

Here's me and my BFF getting some sun :)

Burgers and taco salad!

Good group photo we took.

After the beach we had a Bon fire and my house and got to see some fire works that were lot off in my neighborhood.

On Saturday I went shopping and did a little damage. I am doing a haul post soon so I won't get into too much of what I got.

I did find these amazing candles for $9 each at bath and body works! It was their semi annual sale, so I picked up these and some hand soap. These are in the scents Sunset a Beach and Island Waters.

I also decided I needed to reorganize all of my book shelves (300+ books, what was I thinking??), and I bought a new book shelf at target to help organize them. This is actually a shelf for all of the books in my 'to be read' pile lol. >.<

Sunday my husband and I relaxed most of the morning and afternoon but decided to go out for dinner and get some frozen yogurt! So yummy!

I hope everyone enjoyed this post and had a great holiday weekend!!

What did you do for the 4th of July? Let me know in the comments!

Weekend Post #1

Hey everyone!! Has anyone else seen these weekend/weekenders posts going around? Some of the blogs I follow have been doing these, and basically you share little bits and pieces of your life during the week in a post typically when the week is over.  I really thought this idea was great and I want to join in on the fun. I got really great feedback from sharing my end of 2013 post where I shared more of my personal life with my followers so I thought this would be something you guys enjoy too!!

Now before I start I'm going to say I'm not sure how many fun and excited things I will have to share because I work 50+ hours a week. So I rarely have time to myself because I'm at work all day. But I will share random things like what I'm cooking, things I'm reading, what my husband and I are doing on the weekends, and if anything exciting is happening during the day.

So now that I've typed an uber long description, let's get into the post!!

Right now we are in the process of finishing our basement and my husbands office/game room now is completed!! We put in carpet last weekend and then spent some time decorating it with video game posters and decals, and some black light posters. These couches that are in the picture are actually for the living room down there, but since that isn't finish and we don't have a place to put them, we put them here for now. We are going to replace them with black ones later.

I mentioned in my 2014 goal post that I'm trying to eat healthier and control my portions as well. For dinner a day last week I made chicken and steak fijitas with green and red peppers and some yellow rice. This may not be the healthiest thing in the world, but hey it was delicious and better then getting take out right? ;) I don't know if I mentioned it before but I LOVE to cook!

This week I finished this book called Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. I read a lot of young adult books and this one is a contemporary. It was really good and it's one of my new favorites. I didn't want this book to end because I loved it so much.

I found my kitties cuddling, which is a rare sight. I tried to take a picture really quick before they moved so it's kind of blurry.

I got some books in the mail and a box from Ulta! Expect a haul and some reviews coming soon!!

Some other things that were going on-

I had to miss work on Thursday because I had a doctors appointment at 11. I missed my doctors appointment because I got my car stuck in my damn driveway from the snow, and had to reschedule for that afternoon. I has my blood drawn for the first time and it was not fun. Not cool.

My sister in law is going to have her baby soon, any time now! I can't wait to meet my nephew! So excited!

I hope you all enjoyed this post and let me know if you are interested in me doing posts like this!!!

Did anything exciting happen to you during this week or weekend?
