New post series alert!!
Hi friends! So I decided to make a new blog post series that I'm calling '5 on Friday', in which I will share 5 different must haves or favorites of mine. These will be of all different veriety, and won't always be beauty related things (ex books, movies, foods, tips and tricks, etc.). I'm trying to incorporate some none beauty related things into my blog so I thought this would be a good way to do it! What do you guys think? Give me some suggestions of 5 things you would like to see each month!
Today's 5 on Friday will be beauty related, but I'm going to talk about hair products. I rarely talk about hair stuff on my blog so I thought I would share my 5 must haves for hair care!
Hair Spray
I need hair spray in my life. My hair doesn't like to style so hair spray is a must have for me. My favorite is the John Frieda frizz ease. I get the firm holding spray and this stuff works awesome.
Dry Shampoo
I've tried a lot of dry shampoos in the past and this one from Dove wins. It smells super nice and does not leave any why residue in my hair.
Heat Protector
I use heat on my hair everyday so this is a must. I'm currently using the Redken Iron Shape. I don't necessarily have a favorite one of these, but this one is nice.
Hair Oil
I cannot straighten my hair without using an oil. It smooths down all of my dead ends nice and makes me appear to have healthy and shinny hair. My two favorites are the Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Argan Oil and the Matrix Biolage Equisite Oil. They both smell great too!
Leave in Conditioner
These are another product I can't go without because my hair is so tangled after I wash it and these take care of the problem. I'm currently using the Aveeno Nourish and Condition leave in treatment and the 12 Benefits instant healthy hair treatment. I don't love either of these but it's what I have right now so I'm using them up. I prefer it's a 10, which is similar to 12 benefits but better in my opinion!
What are your must have hair care products? Let me know in the comments!
And let me know which 5 things you would like to see next!!
I'm still on the fence about dry shampoo, my first is Klorane that I received in this month's ipsy. I haven't really tried it yet, I have a habit of washing my hair everyday, especially after I cook because I hate smelling grilled chicken in my hair. LOL! I should try not washing my hair for three days and see how it goes though.
ReplyDeleteAnd as for the next 5 products? I say please do something on lips products. You know how much I love lipsticks so maybe your top 5 pinks, reds and nudes?
Shireen | Reflection of Sanity
It took me a while to get use to using dry shampoo and not washing my hair everyday so I understand what you mean! I would suggest starting with every other day so your scalp and hair can get 'used to' not being washed ebirthday. It takes some getting use it!
DeleteAnd thank you for that suggestion! I will definitely do some favorites on lip products! It will be surpr hard to narrow them down haha!!! Thanks Shireen!!
Nice post Ashley! I typically use hair spray as well! I try to look for hairsprays that will tame my frizzy hair lol! I love using Dove products! I bet that dry shampoo smells good!
ReplyDeleteThanks Pilar! Dove products smell amazing! And I agree I need a hairspray for frizz too because my hair is so damaged haha!
DeleteI meant to add can you post a future 5 on Friday nude lipstick post? Between you and my mom the two of you have given me great suggestions on nude lipsticks!
DeleteI will definitely do that!! Nudes are my favorite so it will be so hard to narrow them down haha!! I talk about Mac ones a lot but maybe I'll do one on just Mac nudes and then one for other favorite nudes? Thanks for the suggestion!!
DeleteThanks and you're welcome! Lol I feel the same way about my pink shades of lipstick from MAC! It's so hard to choose! I think either idea you suggested would be awesome. Outside of MAC nude lipsticks I also like NYX' Butter Lipstick in Pops and Revlon Lip Butter in Creme Brulee. I look forward to reading your upcoming posts!
DeleteI do really like Nyx too! There's so many good ones. I'll probably do both posts haha!! Thanks Pilar!
DeleteThis series is going to be great Ashley! Look forward to your posts. I just started using oils on my hair and they're really helping. Currently I'm using Moroccan Oil and my dry hair is soaking it up. HaHaHa Glad you love the mascara! Looks great on your eyelashes. When I saw your picture, I was like WOW look at her lashes! That's so awesome and thanks for helping me ((hug))

I'm glad you like the idea for this post series Kim! I will have to try out some Moroccan oil because my hair is super dry too!
DeleteAnd thank you again for the mascara! I was so excited about it!! Big hugs!
My must have hair product is argan oil. So amazing. Great list Ashley! How about top 5 contour tools, brushes/highlighters and bronzers?
ReplyDeleteTegan xx - Permanent Procrastination
Thank you, Tegan! Argan oil reslly is great! And thank you for those suggestions! I will definitely do posts on those as well!!
Deletei haven't tried the 12 one before! i love it's 10, but this one is new to me! ps i've got a dove post coming soon!!
ReplyDeleteI would say skip it and stick to its a ten! And awesome I can't wait to see the dove post!!
DeleteI love this new series! Batiste is my favorite dry shampoo, but it does leave a white residue in my hair. I can live with it, but it's not ideal in a situation where I need to be out of the door. Thanks for sharing, Ashley!
ReplyDeleteThanks Chelsea! I have tired the batiste before! I think they have one for brunette hair that isn't suppose I be white and match brown hair I heard! Maybe we should try that one haha!
