Naked Heat | Review, Swatches, and Makeup Looks

I'm not going to lie, I went crazy after seeing the new Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette. Everyone seemed to have mixed feelings about it, either they were excited or they weren't. I've been a fan of the Naked Palettes for years, and always get excited over the new UD releases. I don't use my naked palettes often any more, and can agree with many others when they say that there is better quality palettes out there. But I can honestly say, I think that the Naked Heat palette is the best naked palette yet. The. Best.  And forwarming, this post is going to be very picture heavy, and this review will be way too long and detailed will be pretty lengthy!

What initially drew me to this palette was the color scheme, not the fact that it's a new naked palette. I'm obsessed with warm, reddish, orange, and rusty shades. It's what I wear on a daily basis, so of course I wanted to get my hands on it.

The packaging is nice, it's the same as the Naked Smoky palette (hard plastic with magnetic closure) , rather then the usually metal tin or cardboard like the first three. I like this packaging the best so far. I think that UD put a lot of thought into not only the packaging, but also the box that it came in.

The palette comes with a double ended brush. I think UD makes great brushes, so it's always nice to see them included in the palettes.

Here is photos of the palette without the flash (top) and with a flash (bottom). You get a nice mix of matte and shimmed shades, but what's different about this palette is that you get MORE mattes than shimmers. Usually the naked palettes only have 2-3 mattes. (first 3), and the smoky has equal mattes/shimmers. This palette has 7 matte shades and 4 shimmers. It also includes a satin off white shade that is mostly matte but has a tiny bit of sheen to it (think the first shade in the naked basics palette).

Swatches
And here are swatches with and without the flash.
From left to right (top photos)- Ounce, Chaser, Sauced, Low Blow, Lumbre, He Devil
(bottom photos)- Dirty Talk, Scorched, Cayenne, En Fuego, Ashes, Ember

Formula, Pigmentation, and all that Jazz
Lets talk about about the quality these shadows before I share the makeup looks. The pigmentation is amazing and these shadows have really great formulation to them. These are the best quality shadows that I've ever seen in a Naked palette before. The matte shades are so creamy and blend out amazingly. They remind me of how great the matte shades in the naked basics palettes are, especially the Ultimate Naked Basics. The shimmer shades as also amazing. They apply so well with a brush or your finger. They also foil really well when using a wet brush.

Makeup Looks
I found it easy to create a ton of different makeup looks with this palette. You can create a natural/neutral look using the first few matte shades, or you can go all the way to super smokey with using the right end of the palette. The shades Lumbre (second to last on top photos), Dirty talk (first on bottom photos), and Scorched (second on bottom photos) all look similar when looking at them in the palette, but they are all completely different when used on the eyes in a makeup look.

Here is the most natural of the makeup looks that I created, and this has been my go to makeup look lately.
I used Chaser as my transition shade. I used Sauced and Low Blow in my crease, and Cayenne in the outer corner and to deepen the crease. I used Ounce all over my lid and under my brow bone, and Cayenne on the lower lash line.

For this look I use Chaser as a transition, Sauced and Low Blow in my crease. He Devil and Cayenne to deepen my crease, and Dirty Talk all over my lid, with Ounce as my brow bone highlight, and Cayenne on the lower lash line.

This next one is my favorite look that I created with this palette so far.
I used Chaser for transition, Low Blow in my crease, Cayenne and En Fuego to deepen my crease, and Lumbre all over my lid. En Fuego on the lower lash line. I think Lumbre is my favorite shade in the palette.

And for this last one I used Sauced and Low Blow as a transition/crease shade, He Devil to deepen my crease, and Cayenne and En Fuego in the outer corner. I used Ember on the outer half of my lid, and Scorched on the first half. I used Ember on the lower lash line.

My Overall Thoughts
-Overall I think this is an amazing palette, and like I said It's my favorite naked palette yet. I also think its the best quality of them all. The pigmentation is great, the formula is buttery and smooth, and they blend really well.
-I love all of the shades, and I think they work well with my green eyes to make them stand out. That's probably my favorite thing about the palette.
-I love the fact that there is more matte than shimmer shades.
-If you are thinking about purchasing this palette, I definitely recommend it! Its definitely worth the money!

Have you picked up the Naked Heat palette yet? What are your thoughts on it?

Beauty Haul | Recent Purchases

Hello! I hope you all had a great weekend.

I usually film my haul videos, but I'm doing this one is a post today because it's just a few things I've picked up over the past two weeks or so. Some of them are repurchases or I've already shared them on Instagram, so I figured I didn't need to film this. Aka, I might just be lazy.

Too Faced Sweet Tea Bronzer. After seeing Tanya and Kim's review for this, I knew I had to have it. This is part of their sweetheart collection so it comes in a cute little heart packaging. This just came to my house today so I can't wait to try it.

Kat Von D Lock it Tattoo Foundation. I ran out of mine and my skin is having break out issues again, I wanted my favorite full coverage foundation.

I used my Sephora points to get a sample of the Dr Brandt PoresDermabrasion scrub. I already have a sample of this, but I'm really liking Dr Brandt scrubs so I figured I'd get another since it was offered for 100 pts.

Sephora had some promotions online, and some skin care items were included, so I chose the Origins By All Greens foaming deep cleansing mask. I haven't tried much from Origins but this sounded interesting to me. It's a decent size too for a sample. I'll be trying this soon!

Anastasia Glow Kit. I shared this in my post on Friday and a lot of you wanted a review for it. I'll have the review up next week! This is amazing though!

Elf Blush and Contour duo. I had one of these years ago and didn't care much for it. I picked up a new one in different shade than I had, mainly because I was curious to see if the formula is different now that they've improved their quality!

UD Naked Skin Foundation. Another one of my favorite foundations that I've been meaning to repurchase.

Maybelline Lipstick in Nude Thrill. I saw a display of these, and I wasn't sure if they were a new collection! I haven't seen these blue packaging on maybelline lipsticks before. I chose a nude shade, because well, that's mostly all I wear.

Me! Bath Pomegranate Bath Bombs. I found these at target. I was curious as to how they compared to Lush bath bombs since you get 6 of them for $10.

Shea Moisture peace rose oil complex face moisturizer for sensitive skin. Since I've liked a lot of the Shea Moisture products I've tried and I'm into natural/organic skin care I've been wanting to try some of their skin care products. I needed a new moisturizer, and since my skin is sensitive and I love things with rose in them, I chose this one.

I'll definitely be doing reviews for a lot of these products, but if there's anything you guys specifically want a review on then let me know!

Urban Vices | 500 pt perk from Sephora

Hello! Today I'm going to be reviewing the Urban Vices 500 point perks set from Sephora. This is a little palette and delux eyeliner that has shadows from the Urban Decay Vice palettes. I've had this set for a few months now, my mom was kind enough to use her Sephora points and get me this which made me happy because I was eyeing it lol! I wasn't going to do a review, but I went into Sephora yesterday and saw they still had the set avalible.

You get four shadows and a mini 24/7 eyeliner in smokeout.

From left to right- Dope, Hoodoo, Derailed, Smokeout, and the eyeline is called smokeout as well.

I used dope on my lid, and derailed blended out into my crease with a tiny bit of smokeout in the putter corner. I also used frisk from the naked2 basics palette as a transition shade.

My thoughts-
-As with all urban decay shadows these are very pigmented, buttery, and smooth. They apply nice and blend out nice.
-The only shade I haven't used in the palette yet is hoodoo because I don't wear purples often, but it swatched nicely.
-I don't own any of the Vice palettes so I was happy to be able to try out some of the shades from this, and I'm happy that most of them are neutral shades.
-I love the 24/7 liners so I was happy to add Smokeout to my collection. It's softer black/grey shade so it's nice if you don't want a harsh black liner.
-It's great for travel since the palette is small and doesn't take up a lot of space!

Overall this is a good little set and totally worth the 500 points! A lot of the 500 point sets don't interest me so I think the urban decay sets are one of the better ones that they offer!

Have you picked up any good 500 point perks from Sephora lately?

Eye Makeup Tutorial | Naked Smokey Palette!

Hello! I'm glad you all enjoyed my review for the Naked Smokey Palette! Today I have a video doing a tutorial using this palette on one of the eye looks I shared in the review. Please keep in mind that this is my first tutorial on eye makeup and its in no way perfect LOL. I had a hard time figuring how to zoom in on my eyes, focusing my camera, etc. This is the second time I filmed this because the first time I kept putting my head down and my eyes weren't in the camera frame or I would move and be off center. Anyways I tried really hard while filming this to stay in camera and not tilt my head weird!

This photo is from a FOTD post that I did a while ago, and its the first set of eye make up I showed in my review. This has been my favorite look I've done with this palette so far, so its what I recreated today in the video!

I hope you all enjoyed, and thank you for watching!

FOTD | UD Naked Smokey

Hi :) I haven't done a FOTD or makeup post in a while that didn't have a video attached to it so when I was playing around with my new Naked Smokey Palette I had to take pictures.

I will be doing a review for this palette soon so I'm going to go much into detail about my eye makeup because you'll see a closer look on it in the review!

For my Face
Benefit Porefessional, Loreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation, Mac Pro Longwear concealer, Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, Lorac TANalizer Bronzer and Highlight Duo, Urban Decay Blush in Fetish.

For my lips I used Mac Twig overtop of Mac Absolutly It lip liner

For my Eyes
I used the new Urban Decay Naked Smokey Palette for my shadows, Loreal Lineur Intesne Liquid Liner, Urban Decay Shadow Stick in Rehab on my waterline, and Benefit Rollerlash for my mascara.

*Also I wanted to say that this Sunday my husband and I are leaving on vacation for a week so I don't know if ill have a post up for a week or so after this one! I may do a post on what's in my travel makeup bag while im gone. I will still be reading and catching up on blogs while I'm away but if you guys don't see a post from me that's why!*

I hope you all enjoyed and thank you for reading!

Urban Decay Afterglow Blush Review

Hello beautiful people!
I'm sure you have all seen or heard about the new Urban Decay Afterglow Blushes. I love anything Urban Decay so I couldn't wait to get my hands on one of these.

These retail for $26 and can be found at Sephora, Ulta or UD's website.

The color I chose was called Fetish and it's a neutral pinky mauve color that's matte. There are 12 shades ranging from natural to bright, light to dark, matte to shimmer.

 Product Claims
From urbandecay.com

"Lightweight yet luxurious, Afterglow has a soft, creamy texture that always applies beautifully. Our extremely blendable, finely milled formula goes on sheer and provides EIGHT long hours of wearable, streak-free color.

We finely milled the right balance of coated powders and pigments to create Afterglow’s perfect, super-soft texture. This method results in color that glides on effortlessly and blends beautifully (without the powdery buildup of cheaper formulas). We also infused the formula with light-diffusing pigments to enhance and perfect the skin. "

My Thoughts
-I have nothing but good things to say about this blush. I am in love and it made my favorites list for May! (Video coming soon!)
-I've been using this for maybe 2 weeks now and it's the only blush I've used since I got it. I could tell right away when I used it that it was going to be a favorite of mine.
-The packaging is beautiful. It has a magnet closure and it's sleek so it's travel friendly.
-The formula is incredible. It's not overly pigmented so you won't end up with clown cheeks, but there is enough pigment where you don't need to build up the color. It applies super nice and smooth to the skin and is not patchy.
-I'm super happy with the color I chose. It's a pretty mauve color on my skin that's perfect for everyday.
-I do agree with the long wearing claims. It stays put on my cheeks all day.
-I want to pick up more of these someday in the future when my blush collection isn't out of control lol!

Have you tried these new Urban Decay Blushes? If so, leave your thoughts on them in the comments!

5 on Friday | Top Favorite Lipliners

Hello!! This post was suppose to go up earlier today but I've been busy busy busy at work! At least it's still early (ish) in the day and it's not going up at night time!

Today I'm sharing my top 5 favorite lipliners. Lip liners are still new to me, and I just started using them a few months ago. Now I can't go without them! Most of these im showing are nudes, because that's all I wear on my lips lol! I would also love to know some of your favorites, or ones you could recommend to me!

The first one is Absolutely It by Mac. I bought this when I still had a fear of lipliners. It looks excellent paired with Mac Twig lipstick, which is why I purchased it!

Next is Nyx Narural. This is a good brown nude and I like to pair it with Mac Hug me, and Maybelline Nude Lust.

Next is Nyx Nude. This one is more pink toned than Natural, and I perfer this one over Natural. It looks awesome with Maybelline Nude Lust (fav lip combo!), and also with Mac Viva Glam 2 and Faux. These lipliners are the retractable ones, and they are nice but I find them to be very soft and break off on me easily.

This next one is a sharpable pencil that is Nyx Pale Pink. I like to pair this one with Mac Creme Cup, Snob, and Pure Zen.

Last one is Urban Decay Naked. I actually got the delux size of this free with a purchase on their website. I didn't use it for so long until I got into lipliners and now I can't believe I didn't use it. This one is a good darker nude, but not as dark as Absolutely It. I love this one paired with Mac Hug Me.

So this is my top favorite lip liners!! Now tell me in the comments what your favorite ones are! I need some more in my life!!

And next week I will be sharing my top 5 Bronzers!!

Beauty Swap with Becky from Star-Violet!

Hello beautiful people! I'm super excited about this post today because my friend Becky  from Star-Violet and I did a beauty swap! This was super fun because we decided to trade some products that we didn't use much or want anymore.

This was my first beauty swap so I was so happy to get my package in the mail! It really made my day since it came to me on a week that I was super sick and feeling so blah! I was in such awe at all the products she sent me and at her generosity. Thank you so much again Becky, and everyone go check out her blog too! She's an amazing makeup artist!

I had to laugh because she wrote and note on the inside of the box that said 'excuse the condition of this box' because she reused it and I did the same with the box I sent her LOL! I scribbled with a sharpie over all the logos from where the box came so we had the same idea haha!

I totally forgot to include this in the picture above! But it's an Urban Decay Nail polish and look at the skull on the top!! I'm obsessed. It's such a pretty dark purple shade! I usually only wear dark nail polish so this is perfect.

Next is the Too Faced a la mode palette, which you saw from my previous post on a spring makeup look. This is seriously so  gorgeous and I was shocked when I saw this in the box!

Next is the UD Shattered Face palette. This is cool because it has shadows and blushes in it!

This is a blush by Illamasqua. It's such a pretty color and have been wearing it everyday! I haven't tried anything by this brand before so I was excited about this one.

Next is the UD chill makeup setting spray. I've tried the other sprays from UD but not this one so I can't wait to test it out. Next to it is Mac velvet teddy which I have wanted for forever. I couldn't get good lighting so it looks kind of peachy color here lol!

Last is a bunch of UD eye pencils, which are amazing. Look how pretty the top dark teal color is!

Once again, thank you Becky for all these amazing goodies! I totally want to send you another box of stuff because you sent me so much!!

Thank you all for reading!!

January Favorites!

I haven't done a favorites post since October! Does anyone else feel like writing favorites post is a chore? I do! And I also feel like they are an obligation as a beauty blogger LOL! That's probably why I haven't done one in so long. Honestly, 90% of the time I use the same stuff everyday/every month unless I get something new and that's another reason why I haven't done one.

So since I haven't done one in months, I thought this would be a good time to do one. With that being said, I probably won't do these every month, just randomly when I feel like I have goodies to share ;)

First up is some cheek products. My all time favorite bronzer is Nars Laguna. I finished up the one I had in a blush/bronzer duo and I bought the full size back in December. I've already hit pan on this!! I seriously have been neglecting all of my Bronzers for months because I love this one so much!
Next is two blushes- Physicians Formula Argan Wear Blush and Majolica Majorca Puff de Cheek Blush. I've done reviews for both of these, but I seriously can't stop using them! They both just give you just a beautiful flush of color!

You've all seen the Urban Decay Naked palettes a million times. The original one is my favorite and you can tell mine is well loved. This has been my go to palette for the past few months. I'm going to have a post on my currentl everyday eye look using this soon!

Next up is the L'Oreal Infallibe Pro Spray & Set. I love this setting spray so much! I'm going to do a post comparing it to the UD all nighter spray soon, but this is obviously a spoiler that I love it.  Next to it is the Pacifica Island Vanilla Perfume. My sweet husband got this for me and it smells like heaven. I've had my eye on this one for a while and if you like vanilla scents, then you would love this one!

Lastly I'm going to share my favorite lip combo! It's the Urban Decay 24/7 lip pencil in Naked with Mac Hug Me on top of it!! I wore this in a recently FOTD post. I never use to be into lip liners but once I tried one from Mac, I was hooked! Hug me was a long time favorite lip stick of mine but these two together is just amazing. I got this lip liner as a free sample when I ordered something from UD so long ago and it's just been sitting in my makeup collection. I'm so glad I'm using it now!

Now that I've wrote novel long descriptions for each item, this concludes my favorites post!! I'm super hyped up on coffee right now, so that is the culprit for my ramblings.

What are your favorites this month?
Also, if you guys have any request for posts please let me know! I'm feeling sort of un creative right now and also feel like I'm slacking a little. Someone inspire me!

Top 14 of 2014! Makeup Favorites

Hello beautiful people!
I didn't do a monthly favorites post for December because I wanted to do a post that included my favorites for the entire year. I picked some of the things that I purchased in 2014 that were my favorites and that I used the most. This post is going up a little bit later than I wanted it to, and thats mainly because I used my new camera I got for Christmas to take the photos, and I'm super lazy when it comes to actually blogging from my computer (I'm so lazy that I take the photos and blog from my phone >.<). Also, I know that pretty much every blogger and youtuber has done posts and videos on this already, so sorry if you are tired of seeing the 'best of beauty' posts lol!

Top 14 of 2014
My two favorite foundations that I purchased this year are the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation, and the Covergirl Ready set Gorgeous Foundation. I love both of these a lot, and I really recommend checking out both of them if you are in need of a new foundation! The Covergirl one is definitely my most used one out of all the foundations that I own.

Two of my other favorites this year came from Hourglass. The Ambient Lighting Palette and the Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure are two of my most used makeup items. I use the palette everyday and the blush is one of my favorites that I own. Silly me forgot to take a picture of them other than the packaging. Lol fail.

The next two come from Nars. You all know I'm a huge fan of their cheek products! The first one is the Nars Laguna Bronzer. This is my all time favorite bronzer. I just purchased the full size a month or so ago because I used up the one I had that came with the blush duo. The next item is the Nars Almeria blush. I'm so obsessed with this blush its not even funny. It's such a unique color and I can't get enough of it.

These are my four favorite palettes I purchased this year. The first one is the UD Naked2 Basics palette. It's a great neutral palette for everyday wear. I used this one almost everyday and it's great if you are a fan of the Naked eyeshadow line like I am.
Next is the Makeup Forever Artist shadows. These are the ones that you choose which colors go into your empty palette. These are super nice and really great quality!
The Too Faced Cat Eyes palette was another favorite of mine this year. The colors in it are gorgeous and I'm seriously in love with the Cheetah print packaging.
Last for eyeshadows is the Maybelline The Nudes Palette. This is by far the best drugstore eyeshadow that I own. I love this palette so much and its another one I used on an everyday basis!

My two favorite and most used lipsticks are Mac Faux (left) and Mac Viva Glam 2 (right). They look similar here but Faux is more pink toned, and Viva Glam 2 is more brown/nude.

My favorite scent was Gucci Guilty. This stuff smells like heaven! If you haven't smelled this before, please go do so! It's amazing!

The last for my favorites this year is my set of Sigma Brushes. I believe I bought these last March. It was a set of 7 brushes on promotion for Jaclyn Hill on YouTube. I'm very sorry these are gross and dirty, but I use these everyday and they are amazing. I did have my F80 fall apart on me and Sigma was kind enough to send me a new one!

This concluded my favorite post for 2014!! Thank you all for reading!
What are some of your favorites for 2014? Let me know in the comments!
