August Favorites

Hi Friends! Happy September 1st! I'm super excited that my favorite month is here, and that Fall is right around the corner! I'll be sad to see summer go, but there's always so much I look forward to in the next few months to come!

I don't know what's happened to my blog posts lately! Time has been getting away from me and I've been forgetting of plan Friday posts. The opposite had happened to me this week. Everyday I've been telling myself to take photos for my blog and get a post done, and now here I am Friday, with this being my only post this week! Oops!

But regardless, I am here with my August favorites. I didn't have much to share this month, few a few makeup/beauty products and no lifestyle favorites. I've been ridiculously busy and consumed these past two weeks with my Etsy Store and tying to grow my Instagram page for it! Okay, let's talk Favorites now.

-I've been super in love with the L'Oréal infallible Amber Rush shadow lately. It's so easy to just throw on my lid for a simple eyemakeup look with some bronzer in my crease. I showed how I use it in my Current Makeup Routine Post, if you haven't checked that post out yet!

-For blush I've been using my Morphe 9N palette a lot, specifically the peachy shade in the dead center of the palette. This was also featured in my current makeup routine post.

-I've also been loving Bennefit Sugar Bomb blush. I honestly didn't like this blush when I first bought it a few years ago and only used in a handful of times until recently. I thought it lacked color and just wasn't very exciting. Now I've changed my mind because I really enjoy wearing blushes that look very natural and just give some subtle color to my cheeks.

-I've been obsessed with this Tarte Lip Paint in Birthday Suit that came in the Sephora birthday gift for this year. It's the perfect shade and I'm in love.

-The L'Oréal Lash Paradise has becomes my favorite mascara right now (reviewed here) and I swear the more I use it, the more I love it.

-And lastly, I've been using the Burt's Bees Gentle Foaming Cleanser for Normal to Combo skin and I really like it! I bought this because Ulta was out of the Acne Solutions cleanser that I also really love, and I'm super impressed with this foaming cleanser too! I've been loving Burt's Bees skin care lately and my skin has responded really well to everything that I've tried!

So that's all for my favorites this month! I just realized that almost all the makeup I mentioned was products I shared in my everyday makeup routine post. I'm sorry for being repeative, but oh well!

What are you loving this month?

July Favorites

Hello! Happy Monday!

Today I'm sharing my July Favorites, and this month I have a mix of makeup, skin and hair care, food goodies, and books! I'll keep this intro short, and we'll just get into it.

MAKEUP
I have to mention the Naked Heat palette because I'm seriously obsessed and it's all I've been using. I reviewed it last week here in case you missed it, but this is seriously the best Naked Palette that Urban Decay has came out with!
I've also been using the Urban Decay Single Shadow is Walk of Shame, because the Naked Heat palette doesn't have a shade for me to set my eye primer with. Ounce is a bit too light and has a tiny bit of sheen to it, and Chaser works best as a transition shade for me. W.O.S is a tiny bit lighter than Chaser, so its perfect to place all over my lid up to my brow to set my primer.
I've been trying out the new Covergirl Healthy Elixir Foundation and I really like it! I bought a shade darker than I normally would and it matches my self tan perfect. I'll probably purchase the a shade lighter in the Fall time when I'm not self tanning, that's how much I like it. I'll do a review for this soon, if anyone is interested. I also mentioned a while ago that I will only be purchasing cruelty free makeup from now on, but I cannot for the life of me find a drugstore foundation or concealer thats cruelty free that I like. :/
A nail polish that I've been in love with is Essie Chills & Thrills. It's such a fun blue color for summer time, but this would also be great for fall and winter too. I don't paint my finger nails anymore, but I love this one for my toes!

SKIN AND HAIR CARE
I absolutely love this Burt's Bees Acne Solutions Cleanser that I reviewed at the beginning of the month (click here if you missed it!). I said in my review that I might not repurchase it because of how small the bottle is, but I've definitely changed my mind and will be repurchasing it. The bottle is nearly empty and I will be getting another one soon. This cleanser is seriously amazing and my skin has been looking really great with hardly no breakouts since I've been using it.
For hair care I've been loving this Not Your Mothers Beach Babe Sea Salt Spray. On days that I wash my hair, I don't like to style it so it can have a break from heat. I will let my hair air dry instead, and I'll use this sea salt spray to give it some texture. It doesn't give me amazing mermaid waves of anything, but I still like it and it smells amazing.
I've also been enjoying this Ion Titanium Pro Spiral Curling Wand. My Mother in Law gifted me this for my Birthday last month, and it makes such pretty curls/waves! You can find this baby at Sally's if any of you are interested in where it came from.

BOOKS
I've been struggling to enjoy reading lately. I've only read 2 books so far this year! I read the Fantastic Beasts and where to find them screen play earlier this year and that was it up until last week. I decided to pick up a few of my favorite books that I've already read to try and get me back into reading. Last week I read Looking for Alaska by John Green, which is my all time favorite book (or at least tied for my favorite with The Tea Rose). I've read this 4 times now and I swear I'll never get tired of this book. Now I'm reading The Outsiders, which I've probably read at least 5 or 6 times already since I was 12. It will always be one of my favorite books.
I usually share my favorite Netflix shows in my favorites, but I currently don't have any to share. I watched Weeds all last month, and now I'm finished and can't find a good show to get into. If you guys have any recommendations, let me know!

FOOD GOODNESS
Last month I shared my love for the GFB bars, and this month I have a few new ones that I've been enjoying. First is these Kind pressed fruit bars which are so so good. My favorite flavors are the Strawberry Apple Chia, and the Mango Apple Chia. And the best part about these is the ingredients- all thats in them are chia seeds, apple, and strawberry/mango.
I've also been enjoying theses Larabars and my favorite flavor is the chocolate chip cookie dough. These also have great ingredients in them and they definitely cure my sweet tooth.
My biggest tip for a healthy diet is to look at the ingredients of what your eating. Know whats in your food. If it has a long ingredient list, and there are things in there that you can't pronounce/don't know what it is, then stay away from it!

So this wraps up my July Favorites post. What have you been loving this month?

Extras-
-I think its time to get my wisdom teeth out. I should have gotten them out years ago but I'm a baby. I got a bad infection in my gums/teeth area where a bottom wisdom tooth is under my gums. Thankfully its better now, but I couldn't even close my mouth because it was so swollen and painful back there!
-My 4th Blog Birthday was as the beginning of June. I completely forgot about it until a few weeks ago. So instead I want to celebrate Pilar whose 4th blog birthday was on the 27th, and Lily whose 4th blog birthday was on the 29th. I love both you ladies, and I wish you many more years of blogging success!!

June Favorites

This month went by so fast! It's only the start of summer but I feel like time is flying by. Today I'm sharing my makeup and lifestyle favorites for June. Last month in May I combined beauty and lifestyle favorites together, rather than doing weekly lifestyle favorites like I was in the past. This works out for me because my makeup favorites seem to be at a minimum these days!

Makeup & Beauty Products

You are going to see a peach toned theme here- but I've been reaching for my Too Faced Semi Sweet palette a lot, along with the Kat Von D Everlasting blush in Wish, and Mac Velvet Teddy lipstick. These have all been staples for me recently, and my go to foundation has been The Estee Lauder Double Wear. This has been my holy grail for a few years now. The Semi Sweet Palette is such a great warm toned natural palette and I used the heck out of it when I first got it a few years ago. I'm pretty sure these KVD blushes are discontinued, which makes me sad because they have a great formula. Wish is a peachy neutral shade that's great for everyday. Lastly, Mac Velvet Teddy has been a favorite of mine for years. Again, great peachy nude shade!

I've been trying out a new self tanner, and have been really loving this one. I bought the NKD SKN self tanner at Ulta a month or so ago. I love that it's organic and that it looks really natural on the skin. Plus it's super affordable, only $20! Does anyone want a review on this? Let me know and I will do one!

Food
I found a new favorite protein bar! These are the GFB (the gluten free bar) protein bars.  These are vegan, soy and dairy free, gmo free , and gluten free. They have some good ingredients and aren't loaded with a bunch of crap that other standard brands are (Quaker, special k, etc). I love the peanut butter flavor the best!

I've been making these tofu wontons so much! My hubby and I are obsessed and can't stop eating them. I crumble up come tofu and fry it in a pan with with veggies and teriyaki sauce, stuff the wontons and fry them, and then eat them with coconut aninos or soy sauce. You can put whatever you want inside these wonton wraps, they are so good!

Netflix

I binge watched the crap out of Riverdale and I'm completely obsessed with this show. It's soooo good! If you haven't watched it yet, I definitely recommend it. I've also been watching Weeds, and I think there are a few shows coming to Netflix in July that I'm super excited about.

May Favorites

Hello and happy Friday!

Today I'm sharing my makeup and lifestyle favorites for May. I can't believe it's already June. May flew by and June is going to be kind of a busy month! I didn't have many favorites for May but I thought I'd share a few random things I've been enjoying!

 Makeup

I stated using the Too Faced Sweet Tea Bronzer again recently. I honestly forgot about this, but I really do love it. It really screams summer to me! I've also been using NARS Deep Throat blush, which is another prefect cheek product for the spring and summer time.
I haven't been doing much eyeshadow lately, but when I do I've been really liking simple looks. I love using a Bronzer in my crease for some quick definition and then using Colourpop Sunset Blvd on my lid. I've also been using the Lorac Starry-Eyed Baked trio in Superstar. I'm not even sure if these are still being made, but it's a nice baked shadow trio that's also great for simple and fast eye looks.

Lifestyle

My hubby bought me a new Fossil purse and I'm completely obsessed with it. I know the photo doesn't show much of it, but that's because I want to do a what's in my purse video/post soon! I had to include it in my favorites because it's seriously my favorite purse that I've ever owned.
I've also been really loving the Eden's Garden Tranquility oil. I showed this in my Essential Oil Haula few weeks ago. It smells so good and I've been putting it into my Lava Bead Bracelets  and it's definitely been my favorite oil to use on them.
And last is a book that I've been reading. Last month I mentioned I was obsessing over The Magicians on Netflix. I loved the show so much that I went out and bought the first book in the series to read. So far the book is really great too!

February Favorites

Hello! Today I'm sharing my monthly favorites for February. I don't have many favorites this month, but I thought I'd share a few things that I've been enjoying anyways.

The makeup favorites this month are minimal, mostly because I just did a 'shopping my stash' post last week, which are most of the products that I've been using. If you want to check that post out, click here, and you can see some makeup that I've been using and loving over there!

First up is the Derma E Purifying Daily Detox Scrub. This stuff is seriously awesome and I love how it feels on my face, and how my face feels after I use it. I did a more in depth review on it here if you want to see more of my thoughts on it.

The first of the two makeup products I've been using is a blush by Majolica Majorca that I bought a while ago when I wanted to try out some Asian makeup brands. I mostly bought it because the packaging is adorable, but I did really love this when I first got it and used it a ton. I pulled it last week, after I did my shopping my stash post, and have been using it everyday since. The shade I have is a pretty peachy shade that looks natural and give a light flush of color to my cheeks.

The second makeup product is the Colourpop Ultra Satin Liquid lipstick in the shade Littlestitous. I love the shade and it's a great everyday pink/nude. My only issue with this is that it stains my lips hot pink. My ultra matte one that I have does the same. Has anyone else had this happen to them with these?

My last two items are two new essential oils that I bought from Eden's Garden. I picked up a new Peppermint oil, which is my most used essential oil, and I also picked up one called Head Ease which is a blend for headaches. It's a nice lighter blend that's soothing. I like diffusing it as well as using it topically for headaches. I still prefer peppermint if my headache is really bad, but head ease is a nice edition to my collection.

January Favorites

OK guys. I've officially given up on posting my 2016 beauty favorites. I thought I got my movie editor working and all figure out but things went wrong when it was processing. So I'm just going to move on and try again with the next video I film. Let's talk about my favorites for January instead!

Makeup Favorites
Urban Decay Ultimate Naked Basics. I started using this last month in December and it's been the palette that I've reached for this most when wearing eyeshadow. I don't want to talk too much about it, but I reviewed it HERE if you want to see why I love it!
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. I picked this up for the first time a few months ago, and it's been my go to concealer for everyday wear. I like its super creamy formula.
Mac Pro Longer blush in Make you Mine. I share this in my last haul post (check it out here!). It's a pretty nude/salmon shade and I love the formula of it. I'll do a review with swatches soon!
Kat Von D Shade + Light blush duo in Mickey and Mallory. This has been a favorite of mine since early last year. I've talked about it a ton on my blog, but its my perfect everyday blush shade.
Nar Lipgloss in Chelsea Girls. This little mini Nars lipgloss is the first Cars gloss that I've tried, and I love the formula and color of it. It's a pretty nude/pink thats great for quick natural makeup days.

Skin Care
Schmidt's Natrual Deodorant Bergamot and Lime. I've mentioned this brand of deodorant before when I have the lavender scented one. I love both scents a lot, and I'm enjoying this lime one. It smells very citrusy and fresh, and this is an amazing brand of natural deodorant.
Lush Sleepy Hand and Body Lotion. This has been my everyday hand and body moisturizer all of January. Lush makes amazing lotions and this is definitely one of my favorites. It has a lavender scent and smells really great.
Lush Bubbly Shower Gel. I got this mini size for Christmas and I've already used it up. I really enjoy this and will definitely be purchasing a full size sometime in the future!
Lush Honey Trap.  This is another product that I've mentioned millions of times. It's my all time favorite lip balm that I recently repurchased. I swear every time I buy this stuff again I love it even more.

September Favorites

Hi :)
Today I'm sharing my September favorites! I finally figured out my computer issues, so now I can start filming again!

I didn't have too much to share this month, just a few candles and makeup items that I've been adding into my rotation for Fall. Most of them you've already heard me talk about in previous Fall posts.

The lighting in my video looks kind of weird and dark. It rained every freaking day last week!

May Favorites + Flops

Hello! I hope you all had a great weekend!

I'm starting off this week here on the blog with my favorites and flops for May! I have a ton of other posts planned for this week and I'm super excited. I feel so organized and it's a great feeling!

You can click HERE to see my May favorites and flops on my YouTube channel! I hope you enjoy the video!

*Also on a huge side note, I'm thinking abut staring a seperat Instagram account for my blog and YouTube channel where I'll just be posting beauty and makeup related things. What do you guys think? Has it helped you grow your blog and channel if you have done that? I'm a little hesitant because I do post some makeup and beauty things on Instagram already, and I have a good handful of followers so I'm not sure that I want to "start over". Please don't think I'm stating that about the followers because that's all I care about, because that's definitely not how I mean it! I just mean I've had my Instagram for years already and since it's my favorite social media, I'm really attached to it. I also have a lot of non beauty lovers from friends and such who follow me, and I don't want to bombard them with makeup photos, etc. Let me know your guys thoughts!!*

March Favorites + Book Haul

You guys. I've been in the worst makeup rut. I've been using the same exact things every single day with the exception of switching up my foundations. I kind of put off this favorites video because I just didn't feel like I had much new stuff to talk about other than the Tartelette in bloom palette. So I'm very sorry if this video is kind of boring because I did share some repeat products that I talked about last month! I really need to switch up my makeup routine and I've literally been using the same blush and bronzer since February or end of January, also the same lipstick, and have not even touched another shadow palette since I got the Tartelette in bloom palette early in March. LOL!

Anyways, here is my favorites video for March! I hope this month in April I have more to talk about for my favorites and more reviews to share. If you saw my post earlier this week on the QVC box I won in a giveaway, then expect some reviews from all those goodies and I hope some of them will make my favorites list too!

What are some of your favorites from March?

*Also I've decided to start doing some book related videos on YouTube. I mentioned in a video I did called 'what I read in 2015' that I wanted to do more book videos this year. When I do book videos, I will probably post them on my YouTube channel on tuesdays or thursdays. I won't be posting them on my blog though, so if you want to see them be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel! I posted my first one yesterday, and I will put the video here on this post if you want to watch it, just to give you guys a heads up since its the first one I filmed, but after this just watch out for them on my channel!*

August 2014 Favorites!

Hello! I tried out a lot of new products in August and late July, so a few of them made it to my favorites lisf. I considered doing a end of summer beauty products favorite post, but decided against it because I will do one on December so I can do a favorites of the whole year!

That intro was super random, so let's just get into my monthly favorites!

These are the two palettes I've been using all month. I don't even think I used anything but these ones.

I've also been loving the L'Oreal infallible eyeshadow in Amber Rush, and the Urban Decay Heavy Metal glitter liner in Baked. I just got this last week on sale for $5, but I'm obsessed and can't stop using it.

This is the Hourglass Immaculate foundation. I picked this up about a month ago and I will have a review on it soon!

Lastly I have some lip products. The first one is the Nivea lip butter balm in raspberry Rose kiss. This stuff is amazing. Next is the bite beauty lipstick duo, specifically the darker shade called Musk. Last is the Nyx butter gloss in Madaline. Musk and Madaline have been my favorite lip combo lately!

July 2014 Favorites

It's time to do my monthly favorites post again. These summer months sure are flying by, and sadly it's only been in the 50-low 70s where I live lately. What the heck summer?

A lot of my favorites this month are products that I picked up in June through early July.

My favorite self tanner has been the Victoria Secrets self tanning tinted lotion. This stuff is super natural looking and not orange at all. I have also been loving this Rose Petal Witch Hazel for my face toner. I picked this up at a local nutrition store and it's really amazing stuff.

These two palettes have been my go to palettes this month. The top one is the new Maybelline The Nudes Palette and the bottom is the Jesse's Girl palette for brown eyes. These are both from the drugstore and super affordable!

My favorite two Bronzers are the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil and the Nars bronzer and highlight duo in Paloma. My favorite blush has been this one by the brand called Emani which I picked up at the local nutrition store I mentioned above with the Witch Hazel. This is a vegan and all natural blush and I will do a seperate post on it soon!

The last three things are a body oil perfume called Fairy Mist. I've been wearing this stuff non stop for the past month! I have also been loving this Tarte lipsick in the color Plummy Rose. And lastly, this single eyeshadow from wet n wild. I don't know the name but it's a neutral/skin toned color that I use for blending and transition shades for my eye looks!

June 2014 Favorites!

Happy July everyone! I usually try to do my favorites post at the end of the month before the next one starts, but  I didn't even realize it was July 1st already until this morning!

-This month I have been reaching for my Naked Palette more than my other palettes. This is so easy and effortless to use it's great! Every month I'm going to try to use a different palette so I can get more use out of the ones I don't use as often.
-I have also been loving the L'Oreal Miss Manga mascara. I just did a review on it for my last post so check that out!
-The Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation has been one I've been reaching for a lot this month too. Review coming soon!

These are my two go to lipsticks lately. The one of the left is Mac Faux, and the right is Mac Viva Glam 2. The Viva Glam two is one I just purchased but I have been wearing it almost everyday. They look like the same shade in this picture so I will include a swatch picture.

Faux is more pink, and Viva Glam 2 is more peachy/brown tone.

-I'm obsessed with the Lush Enchanted eye cream! I need to do a review on this also, but it feels so nice and refreshing on my under eye area.
-I'm also obsessed with the Lorac self TANalizer.  This is amazing because it's an instant bronzer and a gradual tanner. So you can put this on and right away you will have a nice bronze to your skin, and the next day as well!
-Lastly I have an Essie nail polish called Urban Jungle. It's such a pretty nude color with a light pink tone to it!

What are some of your favorites this month? Let me know in the comments!

May 2014 Favorites!

Hello! It's time to do my monthly favorites post!

I'm going to mention this first because I totally forgot to include this in the picture! I am so obsessed with this new Ready Set Gorgeous foundation by Covergirl! I have hardly been using anything else all month long.

I am also loving these eyeshadows by Makeup Geek. These are so pigmented and beautiful! I highly recommend everyone to try them out if you haven't yet! From left to right- Moondust, Mermaid, Latte.

The Benefit Porefessional had been my go to primer lately. I have also been reaching for the Benefit Rockateur Blush a lot. And this Lorac baked eye trio has been well loved this month too!

Lastly I have to mention these Nyx Butter Glosses! I picked up my first one a few weeks ago and now I just can't stop buying them! These are seriously amazing.
