L'Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara Review

There has been a ton of hype and hoo-ha over the new L'Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara lately. I heard it's a good dupe for the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara, which I personally haven't tried, but I also heard from some that it's even better. My curiosity got the best of me and I had to try this mascara out. Everyone has been obsessed with it so I had to see if this lived up to it's claims of being the best drugstore mascara out there right now. I've been testing this out for exactly one month today, and I'm ready to share my thoughts on it!

It comes in an adorable baby pink tube, and has a brush thats slightly shaped like an hourglass. I usually prefer wands that are smaller and plastic, but I don't mind regular ones if the mascara is good. I believe I bought this for $9.99 at target. 

This mascara claims to have "a silky smooth formula to glide evenly and easily. Volumizing and lengthening to deliver a full lash fridge that's feathery and soft. No flaking or clumping."

I'm not going to lie, when I first tired this I did not like it. I seriously couldn't understand why everyone was raving about this. I didn't care for the formula, and thought it was kind of dry and sticky. I thought it made my lashes long, but didn't give them any thickness. I'm not a fan of the original L'Oreal Voluminous mascara, so I also wasn't surprised that I didn't like this either. After a week or so, I just thought it was OK, and nothing special.

AND THEN I CHANGED MY MIND.

I'm not completely obsessed, but I kind of am.

So here is the first time I used it. No mascara on the top two photos, and 3 to 4 coats on the bottom two. I know I said I didn't like it at first, and some of you may be wondering why. If I saw this photo of someone else's lashes, I'd probably think it looked great and that they are crazy for not liking it. Let me explain. I'm ridiculously picky when it comes to mascaras. This didn't give me as much thickness to my lashes like other ones do (e.i. Covergirl Supersizer and Maybelline Lash Sensational), so its hard for me not to compare it to ones that I love. 

Now let me tell you what changed my mind. Like most mascaras, the formula changes a bit after the tube is open and you use it for a week or two. After two week I started to like this more and more. It coasts my lashes better now and I get a ton of length, along with the thickness that I like my lashes to be. It also gives me really great volume and curl, and I love the way it looks on my bottom lashes. It doesn't flake or smudge on me like the claims state. You can see the difference in the top to photos (first week), and the bottom two (after two weeks), where my lashes are thicker in the bottom photos. I really like wearing this on days that I don't wear any shadow or eyeliner. Also, like L'Oreal claims, it does give you lashes a very feathery look. 

My only gripe with this is that my lashes seem to 'fall' throughout the day. They don't look as fresh and when the mascara is first applied. But this is easy to reapply if needed, which is nice because I find that some mascaras are hard to reapply after its all dried and such.

So do I think that this is the Mascara God's gift to earth? Not exactly, but it's pretty darn good. The more I use it, the more I like it. I do prefer the Maybelline Lash Sensational still, but I've been reaching for this more than my beloved Covergirl Supersizer.

I haven't decided if I'll repurchase it again yet. I'm going to revisit the Maybelline one after this is gone and then see if I miss the Lash Paradise.

Nyx Ritualistic Illuminator Review

Today I'm sharing my thoughts on the newest edition to my highlighter collection. I received the Nyx Illuminator in Ritualistic in the Ulta beauty box I received in December from their joy it forward program. I haven't tried any highlighters from Nyx, so I was happy to see this in my box. I'm going to try and keep this review short and sweet so I don't ramble on too much!

These Nyx illuminators come in a few different shades. Ritualistic is a pretty white gold shade, which is what I tend to gravitate towards when choosing highlights. These are super affordable at $8.99 and can be found at Ulta, and Nyx's website. Target may have them as well, but I haven't personally looked. My local target just stepped up their game and added a tons of Nyx makeup, which is a nice change from their small section they use to have.

"Brighten up your skin with any of these Illuminators by NYX Cosmetics. The radiant shimmer diffuses light so your skin looks softer and younger while adding a subtle glow. My Thoughts

This definitely matches the description and brightens up your skin with a subtle glow. It is not a super intense highlighter, and anyone who loves a nice subtle sheen to their cheeks should check this out. The formula isn't super soft or buttery (like Anastasia or Becca highlighters), so I think that makes it perfect for not picking up too much product and giving you a highlight seen from space. I love the white golden shade of it, and I'm enjoying wearing this on days that I don't want an intense highlighter. It's super affordable too, and total steal!

Five under $5

Hello! How's everyones week going? I gave myself a bit of a blog break at the beginning of the week, but I didn't want to be completely absent. I have some stuff planned for next week to catch up.

Today's post is another 5 under $5. I did one of these posts about a month or so ago that you can check out here if you haven't already. I have a few more planned to post, and one of them is all about lip products that are under $5 which will be up in a few weeks. I've always loved these types of posts, because some of the best drugstore products that I've found are under $5. I've also considered doing a 5 under 5 worst products edition. Anyone interested?

These are all some of the best products under $5 that I've used, which are all products that I use very often. 

Both of these are favorites of mine from Wet n Wild. On the left is the WnW Contour Duo. This is one of the best drugstore bronzers I've used, with it's super silky formula and neutral tones- it makes an amazing contour or powder to bronze up your face with.

On the left is the WnW Mego Glow Illuminating Powder in Catwalk Pink. I have the old packaging to this, and the newer version is similar the the contour duos and I think it's the same size so there is more product. This is called an illuminating powder, and many of my friends use it as a highlight, but with my super pale skin I can use this as a blush. I focus my brush more in the middle in the pink shades, and it creates a beautiful and light berry toned blush on me. It's very natural looking with a hint of shimmer. If you are darker complected than me, this probably won't work and I suggest using it as a highlight, but if you are fair like me then give it a try! 

Both of these are $4.99 on wet n wild's website, but depending on the drugstore they might be cheaper.

Next up is the Makeup Revolution Matte Blush in Nude. And this is my current go to blush at the moment. It's the perfect nude/mauve shade for everyday. The formula is great and blends super nice. It's super pigmented so you have to be careful not to pick up too much product. I'm definitely in love with this blush and highly recommend checking these out at Ulta if you haven't already. They are $5 and feel like a high end blush.

Colourpop Creme Gel Pencil Liner. These are amazing for how cheap they are. For $5 you'll get an awesome retraceable eyeliner thats creamy and pigmented. I find it hard to find eyeliners that are affordable and creamy these days and don't fade. This is the black one in the color swerve, and what you see in the photo is all I have left. Mine is nearly finished up!

And last is the NYC Lovatics Eyesahdow Palette and it's thee best drugstore eyeshade palette that I've ever used. There's a lot of emphasis in that sentences, because I'm telling you, ITS. THE. BEST. OK enough with the crazy, but seriously. I have never used a drugstore shadow that preforms like this one does. The shadows are just as buttery and pigmented as high end ones. And this looks almost identical as the Urban Decay Naked Palette (original). It's $4.99 on NYC's website, and $4.92 at walmart. I saw at target that it was $6.99. It's definitely worth the more expensive price at target, but just know you can find it cheaper. If you want more info and swatches on this, check out my review here.

I really have fun doing these types of posts, and when I sat doing to make my list, I couldn't believe how many more products I have to do more posts like this with. Essence Contour Powder and Highlight Duo

Today's review is a long over due one. I've had the Essence Contour and Highlight Duo since June and am just now reviewing it. Honestly, this isn't a product I reach for a lot (spoiler) so I've just been putting this review off for too long. 

This is $3.99 at Ulta, and comes in two shades. I have the shade light which is a warmer toned bronzer with a champagne highlight. The shade dark looked more cool toned with a pinkish highlight. 

Here photos with the flash and no flash, and then some swatches. 

The contour shade is a nice and neutral color, but the pigmentation isn't the best. I did swatches of one swipe, and you could barely see them, so I also did a swatch with two swipes to build up the pigmentation. 

The highlight is a super pretty shade. It's not super in your face or crazy shimmery. It gives a nice subtle glow. I really like this one for days that I don't want a super intense highlight. 

Overall, this was just an okay product for me. I prefer more pigmentation to my contour shades, and I'm a little too impatient to build up the color. But if you like a very, very subtle and natural contour, then you might like this. Same for the highlight. 

This is worth a try if you think it's something you'd like, but I recommend the Wet n Wild Contour Duo over this Essencd one instead. It's only $1 more, you get a lot my product, and the pigmentation and formula are better.

5 Under $5

I haven't done a 5 under 5 post in forever, since I first started blogging! I've been using some super affordable goodies lately, so I thought I'd start this week off my sharing them!

All these are under $5, and can be found at drugstores and Ulta, with the exception of a colourpop product. 

•Wet n Wild Color Icon Blush in Rosé Champagne ($2.99) has been a favorite blush of mine for quite a while now and I've definitely raved about it a ton. I've obviously hit pan on this gem, and that's not something that happens too often with me and blushes!

•Colourpop Super Shock Shadows are right at the $5 mark, and are such great quality shadows. The shade I'm sharing here is La La and it's a rose gold shade with a metallic finish. I love all my colorpop shadows, this is just one I pulled out for the post. 

•Elf HD Concealer ($3)- this is a good concealer for how cheap it is. It is a bit tiny but it works well under my eyes. I prefer my Mac and Mabelline concealer to this, but if your on a budget the Elf one is worth a try!

•Essence Nude Longlasting Lipstick in Cool Nude ($2.99$) is a great everyday nude/mauve color. The formula is nice too! 

•Essence Make Me Brow ($2.99) has become my favorite and everyday brow gel. And it's only $2.99!! Definitely way more affordable than Benefit gimme brow.

NYC Lovatics by Demi Eyeshadow Palette Review

Hello! I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Today I'm going to review the NYC Lovatics eyeshadow palette which was created by Demi Lovato. She's an ambassador for NYC, and I totally didn't even know she had created a palette until Lily sent me this during our makeup swap! 

Previous to this palette, the only makeup I've tried from NYC was their bronzer in Sunny a few years ago so I was pretty excited to be able to try out something new. 

You get 12 beautiful shades, both shimmer and matte. This palette is perfect for neutral lovers like myself. 

Looks at these swatches. This is the most pigmented eyeshadow palette from the drugstore that I own! These are with no primer under them!

My Thoughts- 

-I've mentioned this before other posts/videos, but I really love this palette. It's beautiful, and thee best quality palette from the drugstore that I own. 

-The shadows are highly pigmented, buttery, and blend out amazingly. 

-The shimmer colors are stunning, and the mattes are perfect for transition and crease shades. 

-There is little fall out when applying them. They don't fade or crease on my eyes. This seriously matches the quality of a high end palette. I was blown away with how great this is!

-I've been using this a ton and it's one that I definitely recommend checking out. Actually, I don't just recommend checking it out, go freaking buy this beauty!  It's hands down better than the maybelline and covergirl palettes that I own. 

This looks very similar to the orginal Urban Decay Naked palette. The shades aren't 100% the same, but I did want to mention it because this NYC palette would be great for fans of the UD palette or if you didn't want to spend the expensive price tag for the UD. The quality of the NYC is amazing just like the UD one is. The Naked Palette will always be a favorite of mine, but lately I've been reaching for the NYC palette more!

$20 Makeup Swap with Lily

Hello!! 

Today's post and video is one that I've been sooo excited about, and I can't wait to share it with you today! 

Lily from Beauty with Lily and I did a $20 makeup swap! But it's not just any makeup swap! We picked out finishes makeup products for eachother (cheeks, eyes, lips, etc.) and opened up our packages on camera, so we could finish our makeup with them! It was so much fun and we've been planning this for a month or so now! I've been so excited, and it was so much fun to open my package from Lily on camera for the first time and complete my makeup look with them!

Wet n' Wild Megaliner Liquid Liner Review

Having winged eyeliner is a must for me in my makeup routine. I feel naked without it! I'm also really picky when it comes to liquid liners, because even though I've worked very hard at perfecting my winged liner, not all liquid liners are easy for me to use. 

Today I'm going to be reviewing the Wet n' Wild Megaliner liquid liner, which was reformulated recently along with many of their products. 

I wanted to try this because of the way the felt tip is. It's a bit longer than liquid liner pens (similar to the Loreal lineur intense and maybelline line stiletto). But it's in a little jar, similar to the liquid liners that come with the brush (not a felt tip), so that part is new to me. Do you guys know what I'm talking about, or am I crazy trying to describe all these liners? 

About this liner 

"Wet n Wild Megaliner Liquid Eyeliner is formulated with high-definition pigment and a unique blend of polymers for a rich, fluid formula that dries fast and stays put to subtly enhance or dramatically define. An easy-to-control flexible brush delivers precise application."

I tried to get a good picture of the felt tip but my camera wasn't cooperating. And here is a wonky swatch. Running late for work and trying to take blog photos problems. Can I make a hashtag for that?

My Thoughts 

Pros

•Very black formula

•Dries quickly and doesn't fade 

•Easy to draw a line and make a wing (with practice, at least for me)

•Very affordable, around $3 at Walmart. 

Cons 

•In my opinion, I wouldn't recommend this liner to anyone who is new to liquid liner. Even though I said it's easy to make a line and wing, I also noted that I had to practice a lot. There are other ones that are easier to use, than I'd recommend over this one to anyone who is just starting with liquid liner or makeup. 

•At first it's a bit difficult to work with. The felt tip isn't as sturdy as I'm used to, and it gets a bit messy because the formula is super wet. 

Other than it being messy and hard to get use to (for me) that's really the only cons. After I got use to using this, I fell in love. It's super affordable, which I love. And I love how pigmented and black this is. I don't have to keep going over the line like some liners that I have tried before. 

I would definitely recommend this liner, if you are looking for something new to try!

Makeup Revolution | Matte Powder Blush in Nude

Hello!! I'm excited about today's post because I'm going to be talking about a blush from a brand that I haven't tried before, Makeup Revolution! 

Makeup Revolution is a brand from the UK, but they have started selling it at Ulta (I believe sometime last year?). I checked my Ulta when I first heard about this, but they weren't carrying anything. I made a trip there a few weeks ago and saw a display and was thrilled! I picked up one of their matte blushes, and I kind of regret not getting anything else. I definitely need to pick up more soon!

The best part about Makeup Revoluton- they are super affordable! 

The shade I picked up is in Nude and it's a pretty peachy shade that's still pretty neutral. These blushes are only $5!

They are very pigmented, so this definitely has to be used with a light hand. The formula is smooth, but it kind of applies a tiny bit patchy. So basically, you need to use it with a light hand, but also build up the color so it's not patchy. I'm not sure if it's just this shade that does this, but it's definitely not something that would stop me from purchasing more!

At first glance I kind of thought this looked very similar to my Kat Von D shade and light blush in Mickey and Mallory. The packaging is pretty identical apart from the writing on the front (and the disappointing fact that the KVD blush pan is all wobbly but it's ok since I love it so, so much). However, the products it's self aren't identical. Even though the color in the pan looks almost the same, the MUR blush is a lot more peachy toned and pigmented. The KVD blush is lighter and not as pigmented, but that isn't a bad thing. I like how the KVD isn't too pigmented so you can build up the color nice, get a nice and natural cheek look, and it can never be overdone. The swatch of the KVD one above is just of the darker side, but I always mix the two shades when applying it.

I'm not necessarily trying to compare the two products, but I just wanted to show them both side by side since they look similar and point out that they are not.  

Overall Thoughts

-For $5 this is definitely a good blush. Is it the best? No, but I still think it's worth trying for the price! 

-It's very pigmented so be careful if you don't want clown cheeks. It can be annoy when it applies patchy, but that could just be me and how I'm applying it. Like I said, it can be fixed by using a light hand and building up the color. 

-I like the color, but it's not my favorite for my skin tone. I can't exactly describe it, but it almost looks too peachy on me. Not really orange peachy though. I know, I'm confusing. I just wish it was a little more neutral like the KVD one. 

-Also be careful if you order these online from Ulta's website. The photo of the Nude shade on there a lot different than it actually is. Online it looks very neutral and mauvey, and I did notice another one on there didn't look like it did in person. 

I definitely want to pick up more of these blushes, and some more of their products!

Elf Cosmetics | Acne Fighting Foundation & Illuminating Eye Cream Reviews

Hello! Are you a fan of Elf? 

As with any cheaper makeup brand (or any brand really), the products can be hits and misses. I've definitely found both hits and misses while trying Elf makeup, but they've really seemed to improved the quality of their makeup recently. They've also added skin care, and I've been dying to try a lot of it!

The acne fighting  foundation is one I've wanted to try for a while now, even since a few YouTubers that I watch raved about it. My targets selection of Elf isn't the best, but I was in another city and saw the foundation so I didn't even hesitate to pick it up. 

My target just started carrying Elf's skin care, but only a few things. They were sold out of 2 out of 4 of the things I found, and the eye cream was one of them. Again, I didn't hesitate to buy it. 

So today I'm doing a two in one review for both the foundation and the eye cream. 

Let's talk about the foundation first. 

Elf Acne Fighting Foundation 

From Elf's website 

"This lightweight acne fighting foundation works to disguise redness, blemishes and uneven skintone. The flawless coverage foundation formula is infused with acne fighting key ingredients Salicylic Acid, Witch Hazel, Camphor, Tea Tree and soothing Aloe, to help prevent and treat acne blemishes."

This foundation is $6 and can be found online at Elf's website and some targets. I chose the shade porcelain, which was the lightest shade and a perfect match for my skin. 

My Thoughts

Let's state the obvious first that this look just like Makeup Forever Mat Velvet+ foundation packing. This also have a similar texture, but that's where the similarities stop. 

 

•Pros

-only $6

-blends in super nice. I've tried with both the beauty blender and Sigma F80, I prefer using the F80 brush. 

-the formula is a little thicker (like the MUFE one I mentioned) but it's lightweight and feels natural on the skin.

-medium coverage

-has acne fighting properties and ingredients. I really like using witch hazel, tea tree, and aloe for my skin. 

•Cons

-some targets don't carry this, so you'll have to order online. I find it hard to choose a foundation shade online. 

-it comes in 8 shades, so not the best color selection. 

-has a slight medicinal scent, which is probably from the 'acne fighting' ingredients. I can only smell it right when I start to apply this to my face. It doesn't bother me, but it might bother some. 

-even though it's medium coverage, some redness pokes through on my skin. I still have to use a concealer to spot conceal.

-I don't find this doing anything to fight acne. 

-not very long lasting. It does last most of the day, but with my skin being combo oily, it looks a little patchy at the end of the day. 

Overall I think this foundation is just okay. I wouldn't repurchase it, but I'll use it up. It's a decent foundation for how cheap it is, but is rather spend the extra $5-10 on another drugstore foundation that I know will last longer. If your skin is oily then I would skip this, or try it with a good matte primer and setting powder. If your skin is dry, you might like this!

Elf Illuminating Eye Cream 

From Elf's Website 

"Purified water and essential nutrients help hydrate and minimize the appearance of dark circles and puffiness for glowing, healthy looking skin.

Infused with nourishing Jojoba, Vitamin E, and Cucumber to soothe and protect the delicate skin area around the eyes. It's also rich in antioxidants Shea Butter and Green Tea."

This one is $10 online or at Target. I'm not going to do a pro con list with this one because there isn't much bad to say about this. But also keep in mind that I have yet to find an eye cream that works miracles and reduces fine lines, etc. 

-This does a nice job at hydrating my under eye area. Like it promises, it does make my under eye area brighter and reduce puffiness. 

-I'm not sure it does anything to minimize dark circles, but I get those pretty bad so that might just be me. 

-I love the texture of this eye cream, it almost feels like a cross between a gel and a cream, which might be from the water ingredients in it. I'm not 100% sure though since I've never used any gel/cream products before (I could be totally wrong, ha!). 

-It absorbs quickly and I've been using this at night and in the morning. I have no problem blending out makeup over top of it. 

-For $10, I really like this. I've only tried a small handful of eye creams (both drugstore and highend) and this has to be my favorite so far. 

I definitely recommend trying this one. It's worth a try for how affordable this is. I really want to try more of Elf's skin care line!

Wet n Wild Ombre Blushes

Today I wanted to share my review for the Wet n Wild Ombre blushes. I was super impressed with the Wet n Wild Rose Champagne blush, which I've talked about a million times so I wanted to give the Ombre blushes a go too. Since they reformulated and repackaged their blushes, I had really high hopes for the Ombre ones. 

I picked up two of these and I believe they are $3.99 or $4.99 at Target. The first one I picked up is In a Purple Haze and I was unsure about the color, so u picked up The Princess Daquires second so I could keep testing the formula. 

In a Purple Haze 

 Here's swatched of the different shades and the mixed together all the way on the right. I was hoping this would come out more pinkish/lavender because I have a Nars blush like that which I love. It felt like this wasn't super pigmented but I also felt like I was putting purple blush all over my face. The main reason I didn't care for this is because the color didn't match any of my bronzers well and it looked. weird. 

The Princess Daquires 

I had higher hopes for this one since it looked like a pretty peachy/coral shade. It is pretty, but the pigmentation isn't great enough to show up on my skin. I can layer this over top of another blush but I was disappointed I couldn't use it by its self, and it's not very buildable. And mind you, I have very pale skin. 

So basically these were a no go, and I wouldn't recommend them. Don't waste your money, and go for the original wet n wild blushes instead! 

Covergirl Trunaked Goldens Palette DEMO

Hello!!! I wanted to do a demo using the Covergirl trunaked Goldens Palette. I already did a full review here, and this also made on January favorites!

I've read some mixed reviews on these palettes. I read that some don't like them because of the lack in pigmentation for some of the shimmery color. When you swatch these the colors look beautiful, but some of the shades lack color when applied to the eyes. I mentioned in my review that I recommended applying the two golden shades with a wet brush on the lid. This helps the color stand out and makes them very pigmented and Metalic. So that is why I wanted to do a demo using this, so I could show you all in action how pretty this palette can be!

Maybelline Master Fix Setting Spray

I've always been a huge fan of the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. After I was hooked on that, I was reluctant to try any drugstore ones because I didn't expect them to be as good. After trying the L'Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Setting spray, I haven't gone back to the UD one because I thought it was just a good and a cheaper alternative. When I saw the new Maybelline Master Fix setting spray, I had high hopes of loving it as much as the L'Oreal one because I seem to have good luck with Maybelline Products. 

Details from Maybellines Website 

This lightweight layer fixes the makeup look you love all day. Boost the wear of your makeup and prevent melting and color fading. Quick-drying mist leaves skin feeling soft and fresh, not sticky or shiny. 

You get 3.4 fl oz of product and this is about $11-12.99. The L'Oreal spray is also 3.4 fl oz and I think a few dollars more. 

My Thoughts 

I do agree with the claims of this being a quick drying mist that's not sticky or shiny. It's light weight and refreshing, but I don't think it did anything to help my makeup last. I don't necessarily think my makeup faded or anything crazy, but I do think with the L'Oreal and Urban Decay I found better lasting results. There's no scent and I didn't have an skin irritation when using this. 

I'll finish this up, but I wouldn't repurchase it. I just didn't find it did anything for me. I'd rather pay the few more dollars for the L'Oreal Pro Matte setting spray!

Wet n Wild Color Icon Blush in Rose Champagne

I have a new favorite blush. And I need to share its amazing-ness. 

I picked up one of the Wet n Wild color icon blushes when I did a drugstore haul earlier this month. I also talked about this blush in my January favorites (last post). I honesty wasn't even expecting much out of this and I really just thought the new packaging to these were pretty. I think I might have mentioned in my January favorites post that I wondered if these had new formulas. Now looking at the packaging I realize that it does say new formula on the sticker with the name shade on it. I had one wet n wild blush before and it definitely wasn't a good as this one, so I'm happy they reformulated these!

Ok enough rambling- let's talk about why I love the Wet n Wild color icon blush in Rose Champagne

Props to wet n wild for making these with pretty packaging. Their old blushes looked super cheap and not very appealing. While the packaging is what mostly drew me in, I really did like this champagne rose shade. It looked like a pretty neutral color that I could wear everyday, and I don't think I own one too similar to this. I don't remember exactly how much I paid for this (from Walgreens) , but I believe these are around $2.99-$3.99. There is also a rose champagne glow from the fergie collection, and that's all I could find when I tried to search for this blush in Google so don't get it confused with that if you are looking for this blush. 

This is a beautiful dusty rose shade, and a great neutral blush that looks good with any makeup look. I've found it works for me with any eye look and any bronzer.

It has a slight hint of shimmer that gives you face a pretty glow. I find that I don't need a highlight with this- but if I do want one anyways it's still not too much.

The formula is amazing. It's so smooth and blends so nicely. I find this is a blush that can't be overdone which is nice so you don't even end up with too much. 

I am really in love with this blush. I checked out the other shades but I didn't care for them as much. They were pretty similar to this one so I picked up one of the new ombre blushes instead. I'll share a review for that one in a few weeks!

I was wearing this in my last FOTD post on my everyday makeup, and also in my January favorites video!

Overall I'm very impressed with this, especially because I just really wasn't expecting to love it. I'm pretty picky about cheek products from the drugstore but this one is amazing. I really want to check out their new eyeshadow palettes too!

Maybelline Master Contour Palette

I was super excited to get my hands on one of the Maybelline Master Contour palettes. I saw them a while ago on Instagram, but then wasn't going to pick one up but then decided to when I saw them in the drugstore. I'm indecisive, I know. But I'm so glad I did pick one up because (spoiler alert) this thing is freaking amazing. And this coming from someone who is rarely impressed by drugstore bronzers and blushes. 

I think this is about $12.99, which is the price I'm seeing when I google this online. I can't remember how much I paid for it at Walgreens. 

The Maybelline Master Contour palettes come with a bronzer, blush, and highlight. They come in two different shade ranges- light to medium and medium to deep. The one I picked up is for medium to deep skin tones. The reason I chose that one is because this one is warm toned and warmed toned bronzers tend to work better for my skin than the cool toned ashy ones. The one for light to medium also has a cooler toned blush.

The palette also comes with a little brush. At first I was going to toss this because it's obviously not big enough for the bronzer or blush. I tried it for highlighting and it worked out pretty well for that!

My Thoughts

-I already mentioned that I really like this palette. The bronzer and blush are both nice shades, and the highlight is gorgoues. 

-The blush and bronzer both blend out nicely. The color pay off is nice and the blush isn't overly pigmented so you don't end up with crazy clown cheeks. 

-The bronzer is a tiny bit orange, but since it blends out so well it's manageable. 

-The blush reminds me a lot of Nars deep throat, which is slightly more peach toned that Nars Orgasm blush. 

-The highlight gives a beautiful glow without being too shimmery. 

The blush and highlight in the light to medium palette were very pretty as well, and it makes me want to pick up that one too since I really like this palette. I'd be curious to try the bronzer in that one, even though I have better luck with warm toned bronzers.

Drugstore Makeup Haul

I'm going crazy over all of the new makeup that's out at the drugstore! I'm super excited because I feel like it's been quite a while since the drugstore came out with some new goodies, and a ton at once!

I tried not to go too crazy at Wallgreens, but I did pick up a few items to share in a haul. There is definitely more I want to pick up later, which I'll talk about at the end of this post. 

From Maybelline I picked up the Master Fix Setting Spray. I'm always curious to see how drugstore setting spray compare to highend ones. I love the Loreal one so I wanted to see if this one was any good. I also picked up the Maybelline Master Contour Palette. I've been looking for this for a while, and then I wasn't going to get it because Rimmel came out with one too that o wanted instead. I couldn't find the Rimmel one so I decided why the heck not on the Maybelline one. I'm a sucker for face palettes anyways. 

These Covergirl Trunaked palettes are ones that I've been trying to get my hands on for a while. I chose the 'goldens' palette, but all three of them are gorgeous. It says 'shades like a leading $50 eyeshadow palette'. Those are some big claims, Covergirl!

Last are two things from Wet n Wild. I'm pretty sure their Color icon blushes just got new packaging, but I picked up the shade Rose Champagne. I also picked up a Velvet Matte Lip Crayon in the shade Hickory Smoked. I haven't tried any wet n wild lip products before so I was excited about this, until I opened it up and the color looks nothing like the color on the packaging does. I was kind of disappointed in that, and I dont really like the shade it is. I'm going to play around with different lip liners and see if I can make it work. 

You guys can expect reviews for all of these products, except maybe the wet n wild lip stick! I've already uses a few these that I picked up so I'll probably have reviews up next week some time!!

There is still tons of things I want to pick up fron all of these new drugstore goodies. Wet n wild has new shadow palettes out too, which I almost got but I'll wait till next time. Milani also has new palettes that look gorgeous but I can't find Milani in my town so I'll have to wait for those! Loreal has new single shadows that look gorgoues, and they also have contour/highlight palettes. As I mentioned before, I really want to find the Rimmel bronzer, blush, and highlight palettes because they look gorgoues. And Revlon has a new compact foundation that looks interesting but it's a little expensive.

Fast Easy and Cheap Makeup Tutorial

Hi :)

I'm super excited about this video I have to share today! It's one I worked hard on and put a lot of thought into. It's my first voice over video and I kind of figured out a new way to position my camera (still playing around with it!) so I'm pretty happy with the way this turned out!

Anyways- this makeup look is one that's fast, easy, and cheap! I used all drugstore products, and it's very simple and great for days where you're in a hurry or want minimal makeup. This is perfect for back to school season too! I'm not personally in school (I might be in the near future!!!) but I thought it would be great for anyone who needs to get ready fast in the morning for school/work!

This look is super similar to do the look I did on my Benebalm review!

Covergirl 'The Super Sizer' Mascara Review

Hello! I've been using the new Covergirl The Super Sizer Mascara that everyone and their mother has been talking about. And they've been talking about it fo good reason, at least in my opinion! 

I wanted to try this because of the unique wand that I have never seen anything like! After seeing demos and reviews, I had high hopes for this one, but at the same time was skeptical because I haven't had good look with a lot of Covergirl mascara. 

I think this is around $6-9 in most drugstores but I've seen it online for around $12-13. 

 I tried to capture the angles of the wand but then I realized the first picture is blurry (Opps!). The bristles are small and flat on some parts, and bigger on others. It tapers out at the end. 

Here is how the mascara looks on my lashes. 

My Thoughts

-If you couldn't tell from the intro, I really like this mascara. I was surprised at how well it made my lashes both long and full.

-The unique wand is easy to use. 

-The formula is more wet, but it thickens up after a week or so. 

-I don't have any fall out of flaking with this and it's easy to remove as well. 

Overall I am very happy with this! I will definitely be repurchasing it after I run out!
